well the ASA cam was on a 110 and i believe sean freese of fasttech had a 110 cam in his nitrous beast. but it would be real tuff to get it to idle...

correction...it idles rough...but its not hard to get it to idle. sean's idle'd just fine. 226/234 554/575 110. ASA is 226/236 525/525 110.

You can get it to work.

well if you set the idle at 850-900 and then maybe add a few degrees of timing down low, sure it will work. i have a feeling someone on the right here ------> will do something to that effect.

I ran two seperate 111 cams over the last two years and the car idled pretty good.

Comp like 111 and no more when I used to talk to Billy a lot.

At 110 reversion becomes more noticeable.

When installing cams in the previous Chevy 350 Engines, compression would fall off when using a large cam mainly due to the fact that there was a lot of overlap. It was for that reason that they rated cams as needing 10.5 to 1, 11 to 1, and 13 to 1 for the compression ratio as you could bleed off so much compression that the engine would not start or run rough as all get out. AT the upper rpm's, the scavenging effect from the headers actually helped to fill the cylinders and the compression would come back, along with a lot of power. Looking at the specs on the cams for the LS-1 engines, they all seem to have a minimum of overlap. Opening up the total duration probably has some effect on the compression, but they seem to like to keep the lobe centers up above 110, even going to 114. On some Comp Cams for the old Chevies they used lobe centers of 108, 106 an 104. These tended to be very radical and were a bear when trying to use on the street in an every day driver.

Nick, did you go with a 226/226 110 cam? I remember Chris at speeddemon telling me he was getting ready to try one out on a guys car...that was a while ago.

When I finally put heads on the car I am going to go w/a 232/232 .585/.585 112lsa cam...but if I'm going that extreme, I was thinking of a 110lsa...

My car would have stage 2 heads and that cam on a 150 wet shot...

Would my car idle w/that cam..
232/232 .585/.585 110lsa?? I would do it if it did.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
