Yeah, keep the oil filter you have. No sense in changin it before you put some miles on the cam. Just change your oil after 100 or so, to be safe.

I used blue also. Red is supposed to be 'Permenant". I didnt want to use that, because from what Ive seen here once you do one cam, you are likely to try another! LOL
Id say blue is fine.

make sure you get all the bolts, there's a couple horizontal ones as well. Bang it with a rubber mallet or log like I used. It'll pull down

looks perfect... nooooow..to get the pick up tube back on! LOL

also makre sure the gear on the oil pump is ligned with the crank gear ..if there not centered corectly u can chew up the gear on the oil pump, and lose oil pressure.. like it states in ls1how to.. ull kno when its on good cuz it will slide rite on...

do you have a helper? it would help to have someone help you manuver the oil pump while u get the pick up tube and o-ring on.. dont push the o ring on all the way.. just sit it over... and push the oil pump on slowly.. just making sure it goes in correctly..takes a few trys.. just take ur time.. and be patient... its one of those parts that u want to get done.. but the faster u try or more frustrated u get the harder it gets..especcialy the positions u have to get it.. i found it easiest to acutally sit on the floor facing the oil pump..scence there is nothing in front of the block it makes it possible.. well i didnt have the AC condencer either....

Is that for the lifters?
How much did it run you for that bar? I'm trying to get all my **** together for my swap but went to autozone for 16 pen magnets that I thought were 1.00 and he said I owed him 48.00... : So needless to say i didnt buy them.
I know the rods work a lot better but dont want to spend 90.00 on the tool and dont really trust wooden dows.

Congrats dude. Hard part is over! Well, really, I guess the hardest part is bringing yourself to turn the ignition the first time! LOL Make sure you leave the coil packs unplugged and turn her over for a while to make sure everything that is supposed to rotate, is doing so correctly before it gets spark!
