the crane one worked rather fine

how was that pick up tube bolt? just time consuming isnt it? how many springs down so far?

 

i got 5 springs done.. and the oil pump is all done.

 

thats awsome! getterdone! how many springs does that more tool change at a time? are u using the TDC method to change them out? thos locks can be lil bitches can they? lol.. hope u bought a few extras...start up tonite?

 

the locks aren't bad, and the tool works one spring at a time.... prob not start up tonight i have work 2mawo most likely 2mawo

 

thats cool..well the big thing bout locks for me was.. i was to lazy and cheap to by grease to keep them on the valve stem.. so i had trouble keeping them in place... hope all goes well and u get her started up tomorrow!

 

am i doing sumthing wrong the more tool likes to swivel and the tool slips off the spring and i dunno anymore. i got cylinder 2 4 6 done so far

 

ive never used the more tool, but ive heard it works pretty well, so you might be doing something wrong. Have fun with the #8 cylinder! but after that the other side is cake! Ill be lurking for the first start-up tomarrow. Good luck!

Ooohhh the agony... I cant wait until I'm in your shoes. I ordered my springs, rods, MS4 cam and ported oil pump today.

 

For me, reading this makes me really glad that Im no longer on my back in a 20degree garage swimming in coolant!

where is it at right now? and you should have used/borrowed/rented the crane dual spring tool. You be done with them by now.

 

True, When you get back from work you should head to autozone or kragens or what not and try and rent the better spring tool.

 

So he didnt get finished on Sunday? Pick up tube bolt hold him up?

 

I rent the tools to make it 100% easier. jpr rods, crane dual spring tool, and air fittings for the cylinder to pressurize to keep the valves up. pm me for details

 

If I had known about blancoSS little package deal here, I would had done it. I would reccommend it!
