Dynoed the "aggressive" H/C setup
Finally got the car on the dyno <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
For those interested...here are the specs:
Budget freshening of the bottom end:
Total Seal rings, stock pistons, stock rods, stock crank, Clevite 77 rod bearings, Federal Mogul Main bearings, ARP Pro2000 rod bolts, Katech oil pump
Top end:
GTP S2 Heads (5.3L milled .040) ~11.8:1 compression, MTI T2 camshaft (232/232 .574/.574 112) Crane OEM lifters, etc
Remember these are "low" numbers due to the severely parasitic driveline (9" Ford, 35 spline axles 4.71 gears and 3.5" custom STEEL driveshaft)
I also included my best dyno with the old B1 cam I ran so well with <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

some of that information is over my head as far as knowledge and am willing to learn. But those are great numbers concidering the power robbing drivetrain. What made you go with the ford niner, instead of a Moser 9" or a 12 bolt?

OMG, that is amazing! You are going to fly with your new setup once you hit all those gears. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
That looks like some spunk stains on the dyno sheet. I would be excited too but come on. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Dynoed the "aggressive" H/C setup
they hovered about 13.0:1 with a dip to 12.5:1 at the torque peak. I set it up for 104 octane (for racing) so I bumped the timing to 32 degrees (no knock retard whatsoever)
What I find funny is that I did everything wrong <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Too big of a cam, too big of a header for a 346 (Dynatech Stepped headers), etc...

I like that "against the grain" attitude...Incredible numbers! Show 'em how a budget setup can kick *** Brian. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Congrats. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Damn Brian, bad *** numbers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Very impressive through your drivetrain. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
I told you it was going to peak between 6400-6500. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> lol

Re: Dynoed the "aggressive" H/C setup
thanks guys <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I think I'm gonna try sticking in my "smaller" MMS 229 cam I have and try again to see what effect that may have. I have a feeling overall power may stay unchanged but may get a boost in torque <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />
Guess I need to try it and see <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
If it loses area under the curve...then I'll put the bigboy back in <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
