More timing at idle and low speed helped quite a bit. Getting the fueling right also, among others. It took me longer than I thought it would but it drives almost as well as stock or my GT2-3 that I had in there before it.

I would get either HPT or EFI Live and go at it. Both of their respective forums have tons of info and very knowledgeable people to help out. You pick up a lot of things just by reading

go to their web site. If your car is simply just tuning I would think SSpdemon can fix it. Now if there is something wrong with the motor, I dont know his experience with that.

Honestly my suggestion would be to buy HPT and do a log. You will get support from a lot of very good tuners. You post the log up and some will tell you whats wrong with it and others will actually fix it for you and post it back. My suggestion would be to learn how to tune so for future mods of problems you can fix/tune for yourself.

Torchd 02TA..

You are probably getting tired of the same answer.

I'm with Predator-Z.

Speed Inc will set you up. I've had great work done there.

Incredible cam. Mine idles perfectly at 775rpm. None of the issues you are describing.

I just chose to have it professionally tuned (TSP).

Don't give up.

Good luck...

No, your issue is the overlap, LSA alone means nothing.

LOL! Looks like everyone is telling you what Jim and I have been telling you! If you plan on wasting money, at least give it to a worthy cause, rather then throwing it out the window!

I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I'm pretty sure I can get it quite a bit better than the way you describe it to be. It's somewhat of a subjective subject. A little cam surge to someone may be a lot of cam surge to someone else. But in my experience, professional tuners tend to have problems with driveability because it's a time consuming process. If they're trying to tune 3 or 4 cars in a day, it doesn't really leave a lot of time for idle manners.

My guess is, your '02 is a lot like my '01 and we can at least get 'er close. EFI Live is pretty much like HPT in terms of access to tables. But, they aren't interchangeable any more. If you had a *.bin file copy of your tune, I could look at it. Otherwise, I'd need to pull it from the PCM.

I cant believe you are going back to stock because your tuner sucks *****. With that gas mileage it has to be in the tune 100%, you should just buy software and listen to some people here, it will get you right man.

ehhh. i do not have the money for the SW. I think that my 02s are failing. The LTFT were +2 and +8.....

when the car was stock, it was still fun...

This is the most expensive Oil Pump, UDP and T-stat is history

That sucks man... put in a TR230 I've never heard a SINGLE negative about that... too bad the tune was so fucked you couldn't enjoy the car.

JONAS if your going back to stock then throw in Thunder Racing's "Old Man" cam. Sounds stocks, drives like stock. But you get added rwhp out of it!

DAMN! I just read the last 5 posts or so, but SOB that sucks! Don't go back to a stock cam!!!! AT LEAST AN LS6 or i'd do a TR 224 in your case. I'm probably gunna go with a TSP 228R myself eventually. My tuner can make a T-Rex sound and drive like a small cam.

yeah, if his tuner couldn't handle a 228/232 then a T-Rex is out of the question.

How much for just the Dual spring kit(with retainers) and the pushrods?
