I assume you mean RWHP and with the converter locked?

To give you a little perspective, the S1 cam (244/244 .612/.612 112) has done 530 RWHP in Pain's car I believe. I think this was locked. With some dyno tricks (like 2.73s in a stock rearend, lightweight tires) maybe it would hit 550? I don't think that car has an electric water pump either.

More important than the cam selection will be the heads, the C/R, and the exhaust.

My new ARE 436 did 480 RWHP at 5000 rpm UNTUNED,(last week) just before 5000 rpm the fuel pressure started dropping off, it lost 3 psi right at 5000 then quickly dropped 10 more psi. I have a 242/242 .610.610 114 lsa.

I have the stock fuel pump, I was expecting to have a 230/230 cam but there was a little mix-up. The stock fuel pump would have been fine for that. Nick Agostino, wrong cam, need I say more

My car makes ~458rwHP by 5000rpm and it makes 496rwHP.
If you’re already up 20+ rwHP by 5K rpm, how much total power are you gonna make?!

Dam, I should go over 500 easy, right? Only bad thing is, I didn't want this cam. I asked for a smother idle than I'm gonna have. I haven't picked the car up or heard it yet, maybe it'll be OK.

You can run better than 11.9 right?
Any problems with your motor at all?
How many miles?
Do you know how many ARE 436's there are?

Thanks

So 550 isn't realistic then, for what I have in mind. Solid cam would be nice on a big cube, but add all that extra $$ on top of the $$ of the motor, and not much left for anything else.

500 seems to be an easy goal with such a motor.

Quiken, that 242/242 looks to be about a medium cam for a big cube (if you go by the search results). I would be more than happy with those #. What injectors are you running with that?

EUG, what cam are you running?

What is the max compression one could run on a big cube motor & pump 93-94 gas?

What size injector does a big cube need?

Anything else that needs to be upgraded besides the fuel pump, and injectors?

I'd say 11.5:1 for pump gas.

I'd go with what are advertised as 36 lb injectors for 500rwhp.

I think 480-500rwhp is doable with a hydraulic camshaft.

Has anyone ever pulled 550 before?

If not, whats the highest amount of rwhp someones gotten thru a big cube motor?

I can still go quite a bit bigger. Nick Agostino told me that if I put a radical cam in there, 550 RWHP isn't impossible. Than there's solid rollers to. I don't know much about the whole cam thing, I just asked whats the highest RWHP I can go. I would like to build the highest N/A RWHP LS1 out there for a next project. I was told 600 is possible with a solid roller and a custom intake.

Viper has bolt ons and makes ~440rwHP/480rwTQ
Chase car has Cartek X Package and just ran 10.8 @ 127 recently….

Oh btw: I had extra passenger, Viper didn’t…..

EuG,

Hows the car holding up? Get the brakes straightened out?

Just about done with the 418. Cam is a .625/.625 236/244 on a 112 LCA. Should make a solid 500 RWHP. Mike (StealthC5)'s 415 made 523 RWHP and 520 RWFT with same size cam and 11.8 compression.

Ready for Watkins Glen in May???

No one on the forums have documented rwhp at 550 at the wheels that i am aware of on hyd. cam with N/A stroker.

500 to 525 tops is more realistic (and for this need the MTI S1 cam minimally, as the colonel suggested above) and in my honest opinion you would have to go solid roller to se 550rwhp. I believe the exception would be running 12.5 to 13.5 compression and going with custom intake and race gas, etc.

Take the 500 to 525 and be happy as this will be plenty of power and endless torque for the street. If thats not enough simply throw on 100 to 150 easy shot of N20 and see the 9s!

I think over 13:1 compression, LS6 heads, and a very large cam.

I made 471rwhp on 28" slicks thru a 9" I think I can hit 485rwhp next time but 550rwhp would be hard thru a durable rearend and thru mufflers like me.
