Damn!!!! Help
Ok guys I was having a cam installed. On the dyno the oil pressure dropped to almost nothing. Car was shut off. Guess It is a spun cam bearing. Would it be a better Idea to get a new shortblock then fix the bearing. What would you guys do. Give me some ideas keeping the price down if it can be done.

Yeah who knows. All I was told was that they think thats what the problem was and it would be like 3 grand to replace the cam bearings or I would need to get a new shortblock. The car is still there as of right now.

they THINK? i dont pay a shop to THINK.. i pay them to know what they are doing, and do the job professionally..this is why i like doing the work myself... or if i do take it to a shop.. i stay there the whole time car is being worked on... just the way i am... i have a feeling they didnt get ur o-ring on rite, and something happned there with ur oil pump... the least they can do is take the oil pump off, WITH YOU THERE.. and check to see if it got pinched or something... if you have them work on it and u are not there.. then most likly they wont fix it.. and say that you need a new motor...

I am planning on having them recheck everything. I mean they are most likely still going to try and charge me for a full dyno tune when we both know it was not on the dyno for that long. Who knows what will happen I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow

No I was not there. I live about an hour or so away from the shop. I got a phone call from them telling me I had to sign a waiver before they put it on the dyno. So I figure that is normal procedures and they fax one over to me. Then about an hour or two later I get a phone call telling me what had happened.

I am not sure I gave them my car on Thursday and it was just tuned today. They said something about it has been running for the last couple days fine or something along those lines
