Default Got latest dyno numbers from X1 cam and converter.

Hi Guys,

I just got back from AMS and had Chris Marsh dyno tune my car. Last night I had the spark plugs replaced with new NGK TR-55' gapped a .055 and put in a 160* Tstat and new o2 sensors since the old ones were shot He did a baseline pull of 340 rwhp and 369 ft/lbs of torque running pig rich and pulling timing. He then did his magic and used LS1 Edit and Auto tap for real time readings and dialed it in after 3 dyno pulls I put down 356rwhp and 447 ft/lbs of torque with the torque converter unlocked. So the converter is eating some HP on the dyno and we tried to lock the converter for more power but the motor overpowered the converter and wouldnt lock fully. All in all Im pretty happy for just minor bolt-ons like longtubes, h pipe, ported throttle body, converter and cam and lid. All I need now is a LS6 intake and a ASP underdrive crank pulley and from those 2 I should see close to 400 RWHP since the stock LS1 intake is choking that cam. Im getting 450 ft/lbs of torque at 4000 rpm mods are in sig.

Here is the graph, tell me what you guys think Thanks for reading my thread.

Erfan,

That's some wicked torque you got there! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I would've thought you'd put down a little higher HP #'s, but you definately gotta like the torque.

I'm going to be putting this cam in (the regular 112 LSA though) in a week or so w/ some LS6 heads, so I'm hoping for some good luck with this cam. I've seen #'s all over the place with this cam so I'm not sure what to think of it yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I heard it pulls like a raped ape from 3K up?

Yea, throw some Stage 2 heads on there with that cam... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

With my 3500 converter unlocked I made 370rwhp and 455rwtq, that was with MTI S2 heads and X1 cam, through a turbo400 and 12-bolt, dynoed on slicks... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Bos,

Wow, that's some massive torque as well! That's more torque from both of your set-up's than what has been posted from these new "hi-tech" head and cam packages. I wonder what you would've gotten with a locked convertor? I would've thought you'd put down atleast around 415-420RWHP w/ stage II LS1 heads?

Its not a realistic number,First off u cant dyno tune a car correctly w/a unlocked verter and that number is a spike.Lock the verter and then retune it...

Is the unlocked verter the cause of the overly high torque #'s??

Well I have a TH400 with a non-locking 3500 converter, so I can't do anything about that, but when it hits on the dyno the car rips....

With the recent addition of the D-1SC hitting 6psi and a change to a small blower cam (specs in sig) it made 470rwhp and 540rwtq, thing looks scary on the dyno..

I just ordered TEA S2 5.7L 73cc chamber heads, that will lower my compression to 9.5:1, I will probably lose like 10hp from that drop...we will see though...

Erfan, I think you're doing very well so far. Even with a set of measily Stg 1 heads to let that cam breathe a little better, you're looking at upwards of 380-390 rwhp through an A4.

Congrats, and enjoy my idea <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I was thinking a set of possibly Stage 2 GTP heads that a local guy is selling for a good price and also an LS6 intake and ASP crank pulley.

BTW, How do my curves look?

X1 on a 112 lobe is what I like. Your TRQ num <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> bers will be higher unlocked! I love my X1, great numbers. Now get the rest of your set-up to go with it and your really going to move. Good Luck. I`m going this weekend to HRP to get some times with mine. Can`t wait!
