Can i mill a 317 .045 with out problems

Just wondering if i can mill a stock 317 casting .045 with out Intake fitment issues and any other problems?Also what about Pushrod length?Need to be changed.Also what will milling a stock 317 .045 give for a CR on a stock cube LS1

I say aproximate because only true way is to measure volume, mill, measure volume and so on till CC desired achieved)

IMO over milling those heads is the wrong way to tackle things.
1- Flow will hurt
2- Possible intake difficulties (fitting, and I mean port allignement)

317 are usualy used for boost.

Another way to use them is to weld the chambers (fill in) and reshape them to desired chamber volume.

As for the p-rods, you'll need to measure.

poblems? if the chambers arn't consistent i would lean them over and slice em a tad + them skinny type of headgaskets to raise the comp too.

Maybe i should just mill them .035 which will bring compression back to stock???

That and use a .04x size gasket. But honest unless fully ported just sell them and put that $$ towards true 243 castings
1 to 1 VS stock and unported might harness an additions 10hp
