Default GTO or Ws6

This summer I am going to buy a gto or a ws6. I test drove a 2004 Gto with the ls1 and I really liked it. I do not know how it compares to the 98-02 ws6. A lot of people tell me the Gto rides a lot better and is better overall. With your experiance what would be the overall better car ? Thanks

An 04 GTO will be a little slower than a WS6 while an 05-06 GTO will be as fast or maybe a tick faster, all things being equal. The goat is more refined on the inside and has IRS which most say makes it handle better.

The WS6 IMO looks better, but I had a goat and loved it's looks too.

Both are great cars and can be found for some good prices if you search

I love my Goat and would not go back to a WS6. Slap twin snails on and go to town, or buy a little at a time a build a good NA setup. We are more than willing to help point you along the way.

if its an ls1 gto, they look a little plain, but if you get an ls2 gto they are nice to look at as well as drive. its basically quality vs looks. the ws6 definitley looks way more badass, but the interior and ride quality of the gto is superior.

Can't say much for the WS6, but I love my GTO. I don't know if I'd take a LS1 GTO over the WS6 though.

it depends on your goals.

if you want a fast refined DD that you're not looking to pour lots of money into = goat
(if you want to make big power in a straight line you'll be converting to a live axel in the future anyway)

if you want a fast stylish DD plus an awesome weekend warrior that carries the WOW factor and you've got the coin to sink into modding it = ws6

ws6 is faster stock

Ws6,look better, can get bigger tires under wheel wells, will hook up better(not Irs) and it handles just as good. Would not take more money to make it faster than the GTO unless its a Ls2.

WS6 all they way IMO. I've just never been a far of the GTOs or IRS in general. I couldnt get my 465rwhp Z06 to hook up at all. Broke an output shaft, 3rd gear synchro, and cracked a dif. I swore my next car would be a soild rear. Going around turns fast is nice and all but so is drifting around them and picking the front wheels off of the ground.

I couldnt believe GTOs came stock with 235s too. I preffer wide and sticky tires to stylish wheels. I'm not much for comfort either. Hence the reason my 68 will be my DD.

If it were me I'd go with the 05-06 goat for sure. The ws6 exterior is a bit too fancy for my tastes and the goat interior is awesome.

I think this is the wrong section for this...

The GTO is nice but it's a bit heavier. The interior is awesome in that GTO, I love those seats!

I myself would never trade my WS6 for a GTO. I like them and all but just like the F-body platform more. The goat will be heavier due to the IRS but is said to handle better. I dont freeway race or anything like that so I like the solid axle of the WS6. If it is an 04 GTO I wouldnt waste the money and would get an 05 with the hood scoops and 6.0.A WS6 could be found for a much better price which means more mod money but also harder to find with low miles.

Its all about what you want.
