Default What the heck happen to my cam?

We pulled this cam out for my buddys 5.3 yesterday. The cam is a TR220. The truck ran fine no odd sounds we were just demodding the truck that is the only reason for the cam coming out. Let me know what you guys think.

ah, good. from the looks of the post you were going leave them in and just swap cams. i'd guess that the lobes chewed on the lifters a little, also. post up when you get them pulled.

Oh the truck is a 2000 chevy 1500 but the trucks owner is the one that built the frame for my 72 blazer in my sig. So he has the ability to do it up right.

Two potential reasons:

1. Improper hardening of cam
2. Valve float

Sure has been a lot of photo's like this lately on the different forums.

If it is found to be improper hardening, do you think Comp would replace the cam at their cost?

IF this was the case they better replace everything that was damaged cause of their faulty work.

Should not be valve float limiter was at 6600 RPM and it has the 918 springs.
