Default cheap e-bay cam copy..anyone use one?

my buddy has a mostly stock 2000 camaro and he want a cam but dont want to spend a whole lot..he was thinking about getting one of the ASA copys from e-bay for $100..anyone ever use one the the nock off cam copys? just wondering before he buys it and we install it..

I wouldnt trust it, or at least ask for a pic of a cam card

personally would not run one. It's only about 200 more for a new "good" one.

Internal engine components are the last place you need to be cheap, have him save his money so he can afford the proper parts.

I dont trust the ebay cams. If the cam is junk, it could destroy the whole motor or at least ruin the lifters. Then theres a lot more work needed to fix it (heads gotta come off)

Not only that, but why support people who are trying to make a buck off of someone else's hard work? A brand new cam is less than $400...if he's going cheap on that then what other kind of rigging is he doing to this car?

Yea i would save up for a good cam you can get them starting at like $250 and up if you look around

Jeez people are buying cams off Ebay now? Tell your buddy to get a paper route and start saving to buy a cam from a vendor here.

ebay doesnt sell ****.....i sell and buy alot on ebay ebay is an online auction....most of the sponsors here sell on ebay....i get so sick of seeing **** titled ebay--------...hell 90% of the **** on my car was purchased on ebay from ls1tech sponsors...

Perhaps nothing. I've heard of people getting ripped off buying those 9'rears off ebay and lots of junk parts goin around there. . Why not buy one from Texas Speed or Thunder like everyone else with an LS1 does?
