Default Ported L76 vs Ported Fast 102

this test was done using a 427 with WCCH ported l92's.The cam is very mild,i think with a wilder cam and more rpms, the intake would even shine more. The L76 intake was professionally ported with a ported 90mm tb.The FAST was ported in house and we used a NW 107mm tb.The intake was opened up to match the 107mm tb.

and they say the FAST doesn't work

Great results. Makes me want to put L92s on the trailblazer SS.

I dont think anyone has said they dont make big gains on big cubes.... Its just that they dont seem to gain anything on stock cube LS3's.... yet...

Maybe its the cam selection that needs a re-work? On that note all the cam spec secrecy with LS3 cams these days is rather annoying and quite pointless. It just creates confusion and will force some of us to go at it our own and post results. Think Predator-Z a couple years back etc. All that can be avoided with some more "buy this, buy that, install it yourself and you'll be happy as a pig in shizzle"

Most guys with new cars are still going to go to the pros for installs anyways its not going to change the market. Most guys that build there own stuff once it works and they're out racing disappear from the boards and say very little because they're too busy to bother as there is nothing to gain.

Anyways rant aside ( not specifically directed at you VA speed )

Those are some very nice gains. Killer build. Big respect

I have a 402ci,ported l92's stock l76 intake ect. We put a fast 102mm on the motor and it made no gain at all on the dyno on a back to back runs. I don't feel porting it would of helped at all if it didn't make a gain over a stock l76 intake. Grand spent from my pocket to make no gain and i have a bigger motor then a stock ls3.

Porting the LS3 intake makes substantial gains so if you have to port the FAST to make gains... why not port the stock LS3 and save the grand?

In Mike C's case that is

90mm TB to 107mm. That alone could have been the increase. Who knows? How did you add 5mm to the intake without eliminating the seal?

Filling the plenum is one thing. Getting it into the cylinders is another.

Here's the dyno chronology:

427 Old Cam............................................605/588

427 New Cam...........................................621/601

427 Port Matched FAST w/ 90mm TB............633/616

427 Shawn Miller massaged FAST/107mm TB..656/614

The big TB picked up a couple. Most of the gains are from the modified FAST.

so "Ported L76 (90mm) vs Ported Fast 102 (107mm)"
= 621/601 vs 656/614

+35hp over ported l76 90mm combo

lol i thought these were wheel. nice!

Sooooo Happy that we FINALLY have a QUALITY comparison on the FAST 102 intake for LS3 heads!!! People need to take notes on how to do a proper comparison and how important it is to get baseline numbers first, Before you jump on the internet and go off about how the intake sucks and made zero hp. Great Job to Virgina Speed and hats off to Kevin again for keeping the faith in the LS3's heads and the FAST intake.

No 621/601 is the cam

633/616 to 656/614= +23hp -2 rwtq according to wkmcd Right?

Of course it doesn't look like that on the dyno sheet...

They put the fast on at 621hp. Final number was 656, So do the math that's 35hp.

Nice results, substantial increase in power. I would love to see a comparison like this on a cammed bolt on LS3 with a stock intake vs. ported stock vs. the fast unported and fast ported. We hear a lot that this intake doesn't work on stock cubes but it would be nice to see the difference between the 4. Same cam everytime, just intake swaps and a TB to match since most people will upgrade the TB when swapping/porting the intake.

Now who is not reading the data correctly.

The final numbers are not from a stock FAST. The FAST, port matched and the big TB, went up to 635, up from 621, over the ported L76 and 90mm tb. A nice gain.

It didn't make the big numbers until someone did FAST's job for them, ported it, hogged the opening and put a 107 on it.

So, it works on a big cube engine. Nobody ever said it wouldn't, the issue was always the 6.0-6.2L which is the engine it was designed for.
