Default Intake Manifold Choice

402 Aluminum Block with Livernois Stage 3R heads, 230/236 .590/.600 114LSA cam. 1 3/4" equal length long tube headers, dual 2.5" exhaust with high flow cats.

I am swapping the old heads and cam for the ones listed above and I have the following choices for an intake (I have everything except for the Weiand lying around).

1. LS6
2. Ported LS2 with a 90MM TB
3. TPIS modified LS6 with a 90MM TB
4. Wait for the New Weiand

I KNOW that the Fast 90/Fast 92 is the best intake manifold ever designed for any motor ever (except for one that is ported by hand which improves on the un-improvable design ) but I prefer not to go that route.

I am sure this will go badly, but what would YOU choose?

I'm waitng for the Weiand to get some numbers before I move anything past my LS6. 'm sure you will be kicking youself if in a month or two (or years knowing Weiand lol) you will be pissed If you spent more for an intake that does not flow as well as the street warrior.

just wait for the weiand...you don't want to end up kicking yourself in the *** later when you find out its the best intake out there and you already spent your money elsewhere

Great point. I have #1 and #2 in hand now, which one would you install on the motor during the wait?

I would wait as well. I had the TPIS setup and it did well on my 388 all bore so that is a great setup but its not cheap either...

TPIS modified LS6 since you have it laying around already! Then wait for an intake comparison; FAST vs Weiand, and make an informed decision. Your combo should be stout. Post up numbers when you get them. Good luck!

A ported FAST intake would work best to maximize the power for his setup. It's expensive but has proven itself time and time again for bigger cube setups.

If going with what you have, definitely the modified ls6. That should flow very well. I recently installed the bbk manifold and love it, but i had a stock ls1 manifold so anythings better than that.

I'de go with the ported FAST and a good 90mm tb. The ported FAST is a proven setup and they can be had for alot less if you find one used. If later you decide to go with anouther intake the FAST will allways resell without a problem. A Victor jr. is anouther option....?

Fast 92 lets the motor breathe. But they are pricey.
