Default Budget rebuild

Im planning on going forged over the holidayd and would like some opinions. Im staying stock crank and plan on using wiesco pistons or dimond. And thought about the scat rods with the 7/16 rod bolts. Id be spraying about 200 to this combo. Any and all opinions are welcome

I might be wrong on this one, but only Mahle and sealed power make a forged stock bore piston. Diamond and Wiseco are good but you have to go out to 3.903 or 3.905. Scat rods are a good budget upgrade over stock.

The stock pistons can work at a 200 shot. The aftermarkets would be better, but there are many guys spraying a 200 on stock pistons.

My bad. Scratch what I said OP. Check out the overstock section on Diamond's website. I found some stock bore L92 pistons on there for like $299

#11524 about half way down.

4.00" bore 3.622 stroke and uses a 6.125 rod. says $79.30 idk if that is a peice or what, if thts per piston, thts not a very good deal imo

I would go with Scat Rods In an I beam and Mahle Powerpack pistons.
More than likely you will need a hone on the LS2 block meaning a 4.005 piston is in order. Or even a 4.010. Mahle is the way to go. Make sure whomever sets the rings up to file fit for nitrous.

We can get you set up right. Just let me know.

Default Rods

The stock ls1 rod is suppose to be good for 600hp. The ls2 uses the same rod.
If the stock rods are ok, why not just upgrade the rod bolts ?

They LS2 rod is not the same, technically they are a bushed rod and if you compare them to the older pre 00 rods, they are a better rod bolt stock.

He did say in his original post that he wanted to go forged. Alot of people just want the extra assurance of the stronger rod.
