Default LXR PS7-LS7 12 Degree Med. Bore Heads

Anyone running these yet ? http://shop.virginiaspeed.com/produc...&categoryId=64 They look like a great option for those with a 4.00 bore . I'd really like to see how the 2 port sizes compare to each other .

Those are Cary's heads. I would run them in a heartbeat.

They look like a great option, I guess I'll have to call Virginia Speed for more info . It would be real nice to have a tax refund sale on PI heads .

Those were going on my motor until we "changed" a few things.

They are great heads for a 4.0 bore engine. Make great power. Made over 1000hp on a 370 with an 88mm turbo.

Have you used them on a 402 ? I'm looking to see what would be the best option on a 4.00" bore . The intake manifolds really limit all the awesome heads available, it seems as if the LS7 intake has the least restriction especially for the dollar .

I forgot to ask how well these do on the almighty flowbench . Both of the available port sizes would work well on a 402 depending on intended rpms .

Shawn is one of the very few to get the FAST 102 - or in my case 107mm - to work.

I'm getting ready to run them on a max effort high compression 408 na build with a solid roller cam and the PI/Mast 4500 Intake with a Ken Jones alcohol dominator carb. These heads are what Cary himself recommended to me for my 408 iron block motor. Mine are the 250cc 4.0 heads, 247cc actually. They flow anywhere from the low 360's to mid 370's cfm at .700 lift on a 4 inch bore plate depending on the bench. Mid range flow numbers are also very impressive. There are not to many heads on the market that can do that on a 4.0 inch bore plate. More important then flow numbers, they have very good port volocity. Depending on how things go it should be on the dyno in the next couple of months. They are the best medium bore Ls heads on the market IMO and I've researched them all.

That is great flow for the port & valve size . I can't imagine the cross section being very large . Your build sounds awesome ! Depending on your other components I can see your engine capable 700+ . I'm only building an LS2 based 402 that will live on the street . If you don't mind how much do you have in those ? It would be great to have them setup for hyd. cam & assembled for under $3k . WKMCD , Shawn @ Va. Speed ported your LS3 FAST intake ? What rpm are you making peak hp & torque ? 577 is pretty good with a small cam .

Cary has made over 800hp with these heads Na on gasoline. I'm shooting for 850 plus on alcohol. I have $3300.00 in mine with solid roller springs set up for .850 lift. Shawn Miller at Virginia Speed can give you a price on these heads. He sales quit a few of them.

This is a very mild build...

This is on the engine dyno.

The heads really perform ! I like WKMCD's torque . 850 running alcohol from 408 cubes is bad ***, anything over 2hp per ci is awesome . I was looking @ the smaller 235cc port as I would not turn too much rpm . I'd really like to spin it but the t56 just doesn't like shifting @ 7500 .

I would still go for the 250cc heads regardless. More room to expand on in the future and I really don't think you would loose any power with a mild build. As far as the 800hp plus 408 Cary built, has said it made peak horsepower around 7900. That was with a nitrous cam.

I like the option to expand in the future and the 250's don't have a huge intake valve either . What rpm was that 800 @ ? I want an intake that won't be a bitch to install . I don't mind cutting but I'd like to drive this pretty regularly . I see a stock LS7 intake can be bought for a few hundred . It seems as if I can run these for about $4k .

Around 7900 RPMs is what I was told that 800hp plus carbed gas motor made it's peak hp at. Either a stock Ls7 or Fast intake should work just fine for a EFI daily driver setup.

it would be cool to make 800hp N/A under 7k with a set of Cary's heads. wonder what that would require....

sheet metal....12deg...11deg heads?

LPE 403 your heads are pretty sick ! Let's build a real ITB intake for those and make some crazy power .

A ported Fast ls7 intake is going to be your best bet for these heads. combined with a 102mm tb they will make alot of hp.

Thanks. Shawn is the master mind behind this one. It was discussed briefly, but going sheetmetal. Going to those heads was a "while we're at it" type thing that will allow us to make a few more ponies.

Give him a call...he'll steer you right.
