Default LSx block which lifter you runnin

I have a quick questions about my lifter options. I have LS7 lifters currently and was thinking about using them again but then there are the Morel (king of lifters). A lot of guys are running both and I ran the LS7's .080" preload in my 416 with PAC .660" springs and HUC lobes in the low .600" lift. Never spun past 6700 rpm and did not notice any lifter issues.

But with the LSx block, the trays are different and I would feel better with a link bar setup, that to my knowledge, only Morel offers the correct fit with the dog bone link bar. I would also assume that the Morels are precision made, in the USA and not stamped/assembled in China.

If I go with the Morel link bar, which ones do I need?
5274 - standard travel street
5283 - limited travel street
5276 - high rpm

What is the difference between the three? Is the 5275 a combined short travel with restricted pushrod oil flow? Assuming restricted oil flow, with priority main oiling, is a restricted top end oil flow still ok?

Thanks

Here's a link discussing various directions to go with the link bars. Personally had a set of Lunati's fail on me and ended up with Johnson short travels. Wasnt going to take the chance in another VERY expensive intake removal so I stayed away from Lunati / Morel. Conscious I guess...

You sure about those part numbers for the link bars? Think the 5206's are the ones you're looking for....

I have the Morel high rpm. They have almost 2000 miles on them. 40 passes
1200 of them were on drag week. 3000+ rpm for hours

Proper combination of parts should deliver good performance.

Morel 5206 here with no issues. Proper part matching a setup is the key. Brian Tooley knows this stuff inside out if you want to get advice.

Thanks for the link I had read through that one yesterday. Good info. Yes the 5206 is for 4 bolt head blocks. The 5274 is specific to the Warhawk and LSx because the link bar has a dogbone or ^ shape so that it does not interfere with the lifter tray bolt boss.

I agree with what Tim said too that the proper setup and combination of parts is what makes them work properly and reliability. I do all my top end work, tipple check everything and set it up to what works.

Tim, what is the difference between the high rpm, and standard travel street? Top end oil control?

The leak rate on the high rpm is less, better body and bigger wheel dia.

Shallow preload is better.

Amount of oil to the top has not changed.

I got the comp race short travel link bar ones on recommendation of rom TSP over the morel with my setup. Don't know much about them though. Mind shedding some info on them or why they are suppose to be so good?
