Well my Mast valvecovers showed up yesterday. Unfortunately they forgot the bolts, and no one around me carries any m6 hardware. Well, Fastenal does, but they're closed on weekends. Mast apologized and sent them out right then and there. People make mistakes. As long as they're willing to fix it that's all I can ask for.

I fortunately don't have any plans this weekend. This weekend is pretty much dedicated to working on the car. I had ordered some shims from Jesel last weekend because the more I looked at the wipe, the less I liked it. Had I gotten. The hardware in yesterday, I probably would've left the geometry as is.

Top left is no shim
Top right is .032 shim
Bottom is .050 shim. I think it's pretty much dead on. Unfortunately now I'll need a slightly longer pushrod. I'm not sure if Manton takes returns at all. I doubt it. So if anyone needs a 11/32 .120 pushrod with tool steel tips 7.300 let me know. I'll cut you a good deal.

Did you use the 7.300 pushrod to check wipe or an adjustable pushrod?

7.3

I don't trust the adjustables. So now I'll need to jump up to a 7.350 to keep the jesels around 3/4 of a turn off the seat.

Would just be weary of the slop that's in there with the shims...

Mine are shimmed 0.042 , weird as i need a 8.050 pushrod due to base of the jesels

Man those look good. I think I would've been fine with no shim, but if you can improve the wipe and pick up a little lift, then why not?

Where are you adding the shims? At the valve springs height? Rocker pedestal mounts? I'm sort of lost here.

Under the stands. It moved the wipe toward the center of the valve and narrowed it as well. Likely would have been dead on prior to the head work.

Ok, I see it now. So yes, whatever it takes to optimize rocker/valve tip geometry.

Found a good deal on a FAST 102/NW 102 setup. I know they're generally not great for gains as far as the ls3 is concerned, but I was thinking about picking it up because of the price. Maybe send it off to Chris Frank to have him port it or Tony Mamo even.

Thoughts?

I would absolutely have Tony port your Fast 102! He ported
My Fast 92 & LS2 TB for my bolt on C5 about 7 years ago,
Great Results!, As well as a Fast 102 for my
TFS LS3 CAMMOTION LLSR Big Bore Build!
I don't think anyone has ported more or Better Fast Intakes.
Hopefully the Fast Medium & Race Runners will
Be available soon (1-3 Months) to fully take advantage of the
LLSR & Flow of the TFS LS3 Heads!
Contact Tony you will be pleased with the results!
Guaranteed, I Promise!

Good to know. Guy has the intake pending, but if buyer doesn't come through today I'm going to pick it up.

I sent my FAST 102 to FRH along with my heads to be ported. I figured they're the heads, might as well have them port the intake also. God I can't wait to get everything back haha

The carb style intakes are nice, but not really what I had in mind for the car right now. If I do decide to go that route I'll need a big cowl to fit it. Looks like I'll be staying stock intake manifold for now. Couldn't get my buddy to meet with the guy locally to get it because he's out of town.

Maybe I'll just buy some Kinslers. Lol. Jk.
