Ls2 408 stroker
But for the cost etc it is not worth the expense.
I have also relocated my battery to the trunk of the vehicle and the engine mounts I am using also weigh 2 pounds less than the factory version
So there is already 48 pounds off my front end.
If I install a cast iron block I will only be adding 70lb to the front end in total.
It's not much.
The priority main oiling is another important feature of this block plus it is also rated for 2000hp.
So I ever wanted to boost the engine I know it can handle it no problem.
How much did you pay for the shp lsnext block?
Bortous.. another cheaper and lighter option is a new ls3 block for 3k aud or so from Eagle auto parts in melbourne, throw your rotator in it, new pistons, PRC small bore ls7 heads+ your solid roller or an even bigger one.. I think 416ci with ls7 heads can make 750hp engine. And you will still have a light block. A new LS7 block was only 5k AUdollars last time precision had one on ebay but now they want $6758 so not worth it imo https://www.precisionintl.com/StockS...ch=ls7%20block
Launch the LS7 block is $5300 from LSX performance parts.
The LS3 suggestion is also a good one.
I was looking at this too but I thought it won't really be much different compared to what I have now.
Bore size max is 4.070.
Still restricts what heads I can use.
I would want a block with at least a 4.125 bore size though so I can fit any head I want.
Leaves more options open.
There are so many options for LS7 cylinder heads an not having to use small bore version will also make more power.

4.125 bore cast iron 427 engine.
i mentioned a 7500rpm red line and I don't want it feeling lazy in the mid range.
Of course it's cam dependant too.
I was recommended to use 305cc LS7 head.
I'm thinking this head is overkill for this purpose.
What do you guys think?

Are you using the Performance design version?
My setup in a dozen corvettes over on CF makes 650+ all day, but with my very poor tune on dyno day did 616. I couldn’t care less. It drives great and will spin 4th gear on a roll. I’d bet the farm I’m up over 650 wheel, but who cares? Doesn’t matter to me if anybody out there likes it or not. I know Smokey doesn’t. I’ve got two things wrong to him...plastic intake and Mamo heads. LOL.

Smokey seems to have mellowed out a bit with intake talk.
