so eventually I plan to get the yella terra spacer that self aligns and some Holley sniper covers.
Darth, I bought Taylor plug wire and boot kits and custom made my own wires.
Do those wire kits work with the redline coils? stock ends won't fit on them

OK, that makes sense. I havent' tried to rotate the engine, but I have some fully open and others fully closed and some int he middle. FOr the five minutes I checked, I didn't seem to be getting fit issues. I'll find out for sure though. Main issue with the sniper covers is they are not baffled. I'll be trying to get some cast covers or some bolt in baffles if I can. Earl makes an oil cap PCV set up that is somewhat baffled on the bottom, but idk how good it is. Maybe a creatively placed sheet of aluminum with some slits in it will fix the issue???

I think Darth ran into the same issue because he had some thick gaskets I'm pretty sure. I reused my LS1 billet covers I had made for my YT's on that build and got lucky and they fit. Precision Metalcraft made them and I just got their tallest version. They fit really well. They made my intake for my boosted car too. Good company. Only issue with mine is they say LS1 lol
Are they baffled? I know you want some oil to get through to the vacuum pump, but I don't think I want to drive to the store, empty catch can, drive home, empty catch can. Seems a bit retarded if it gets to that point.

Yes they're baffled. That's why I decided to go with those.

As for the wires I made mine with an msd make your own plug wire kit with those same coils Darth. I know firecore could make them too

We used the MSD 8.5mm DIY kit too. Its inexpensive, complete, and has same performance specs as the more expensive Firecore kit!

Motion race works sells custom length fire core wires as well.

I bought a roll of Taylor wire and then a boot kit. It didn't all come together.

the thick rubber yella terra gasket was not used for hieght ,I needed it to get a seal on the head when I slid the spacer toward the intake. With stock gaskets it overlaps and would leak.

Yeah that thick gasket is definitely easier to get it to seal. I was just saying I tried it like tells terra said to and it didn't work. It worked for the non adjustables

I caught some criticism for using the msd custom kit because people said they had problems with it but I've made several sets now with no issue. It's actually nice to have a kit on hand in case you burn up a wire you can make whatever you want. Though once I know my lengths I like dealing with Firecore. Really good customer service.

Fair enough, im thinkn its like most things tho. If Firecore sold 100 sets in a year and only 1 had problem that makes them great. If MSD sold 1000 sets this year and 5 people had problems...they kinda get the bad wrap on this one. Not saying that's whats happening, but I ll keep that in mind if they give me any troubles. I wish I could have known for sure if the Firecores actually performed better. A lot of other variables come into play to when anything is sold as DIY. I for one have done some dumb shyt by accident before. Once I discovered the problem, Im prolly to embarrassed to admit it,lol...All good. I hope the MSD 8.5mm are good, cuz I own em!

They've worked great for me. The MSD. Never had a problem except when user error occurs making them lol. I've had guys tell me that their firecore wires actually produce more power. I don't know if anybody has done a back to back dyno. Can't be that significant. I have firecore on my truck and I've ran them in my car and they're just very nice wires. If I can find some pics of the ones on my truck I'll post them. And Rich will bend over backwards to help you out.

Katech. Their covers fit any rocker setup, and width is excellent. No grinding required and they seal up every time.

Good info. Do they have baffles? Ports for pcv or do they customize them at all?

No baffles. They do have the ports which are machined in such a way that baffles aren’t needed. You’d have to put your eyes on how they do it to see.
Mine shown above are the slotted version, which allows you to insert the aluminum piece for the Katech logo, or you can purchase a blank from them and have them custom machined. I had those laser etched with my logo on them. The covers are also available in carbon fiber, which is nice because the aluminum version is heavy. Also available in a dry sump version, which doesn’t have the fill cap at all. Pricey, but they work.

It is a bit of a mess still as the harness is not fully tucked under. The fuel rail took more effort than it should but with ls7-sized injectors and the msd /holley billet rail it fell into place finally. Driver side valve cover on. I may need to pull the AC box to get the pass side on. Tall covers are not fun. Will try just ditching the heater hose first. Between the added head height (ls7 vs 1) and tall covers and the ign1a coils, I may as well be shoe-horning a big block in.

If everything goes well and no more stupid delays hoping to start this weekend.

Stealth msd does look good. I’ve seen a few big blocks in 4gens, wouldn’t wish that evil on anyone.

Would be nice to see this car at a certain rental come April

Unsure on rental. I can never predict that far out what my plans are going to be. For now, I'll be happy with the car running.
