It will be better than the last cam.
i think I should go to 3.73 diff gear and when I order clutch rebuild kit I up grade to a triple plate ceramic. The twin plate ceramic only did about 8,000 miles

Lol.
You are right, don't retard the cam now that Mick specified the correct LSA.
The ivc point ended up being 54 like I suggested.
You taught me some good stuff Darth.

The valve events are probably a tad different. Because cam motion give advertised duration of 299/311 at .012 instead of at .006

So this is my parts list so if ive missed something it'd be great to hear about it...
heads shaved .005 new springs 190lb seat 510lb open.... lifters rebuilt... .cometic .038mlx head gaskets.. cam.... timing chain cover gasket... crank seal... lsx cam plate seal...
RE USE cam bolts, crank bolt, head studs, hopefully pushrods, oil pump i dont think they are arp bolts so will hv to get new ones, valley plate gasket and water pump gasket, exhaust manifold gaskets.crank sensor...oil pressure sensor..
new concentric slave cylinder....tr7 plugs and leads... flex fuel sensor... new solenoid for msd starter motor
thread sealant...power steer fluid...assembly lube.....engine oil... coolant inhibitor... loctite..... hi temp rtv...dot4+brake fluid... cam wheel kit some hv said just dot to dot the cam but degreeing it is best?
will i need to shim oil pump ? Will i need front cover align tool? Any secrets other than ensuring pushrods are seated properly (sorry darth couldnt help it)
Ill prime engine oil for psi.... new fuel.... will old tune be ok 1st start, static compression gone from 11.7:1 up to 12.38:1 or should i drop a few extra% of fuel into entire tune and take couple of degrees out of entire spark table?
Fire it up , reverse from driveway , then leave the longest licorice straps my street has ever seen, happy already thinking about it

I've always done the front and rear covers by eye, just centred the seal over the crankshaft best as possible. No leaks. Might be a bit harder if engine is in the car, especially the front cover. That said, i bought a front cover align tool recently, but i haven't yet used it. It is one of the ones to use if the front seal is already installed in the cover. But looking at it i'm thinking the cover might just push itself over one way anyway, and mash the seal into the install tool one way. And then i'd have to centre the cover by eye again anyway. The front covers tend to push themselves over lop sided and i then force it centered and tighten down. So i'm not sure if the install tool is worth bothering.

If you are worried about the new CR creating detonation on first drive, pulling 3 or 4 degrees out of entire spark table will help. You can always increase it back afterwards.

Was looking at the saccity front cover align tool, be about $70 delivered, Ive done it a few times before and i think i used a piece of pipe a few times and eyed a few, no leaks

Good ****.
springs are setup at good specs.
With that high compression 98 octane fuel might be at it's limit there.
With E85 all good.
If you do start it with that much compression I think it would be safe to pull out a couple of degrees and see how it does and go from there.
What oil you using?

I left my ac pulley off my damper, as my ac runs off main belt. Use the ATI hub to center the front cover. Set the cover in place and start the bolts but leave them loose. Install the hub fully. Once hub is installed, the cover seal is centered. Only aligning you need to do after that is at the pan rails. Make sure the cover is level at the pan rail, meaning equal contact on each side. You can put the cover on crooked and the cover will stick down on one side or the other .180” or so. Level it at the rails and your golden. I have an alignment tool set but I’ve never used them. The LS is almost foolproof for seal alignment if you install hub or complete damper before tightening cover bolts.
I got your PM, but I haven’t had time in the last couple days to get you an answer. I haven’t been in the shop, just too busy with work.
