Edelbrock made the dr head. They cast alot of heads for companies.
Thr tfs head isnt the best ls7 head. Thats purely subjective. They are great heads but there are much better out there.

Here's a head you won't see people talk about, a old friend showed me this one yrs ago....HighSpeed...canted valve Ls3 heads ....my thought when I 1st seen it was to raise the runner like a Ls7 head. Damned as Eric Roycroft did another idea I had yrs ago....only thing I didn't like was the lower lying runner and I got Ls3 Heads. It was a thought when I made Rowdy also, they don't sell the head as cast..

I say this if you got a good porter you can make Anything work or go fast.. 5.3 heads on a 346 running 10's think about it. May have 9's but you guys catch the point.

What do you guys think of the mast black label 265CC LS7 heads for the 4 inch bore?
Does anyone know of someone who has used them with good success?

That RW though! Alot easier to go that quick when you're 3-500lbs lighter than others on the list. Easier to 60ft as well. Good stuff.

Ask yourself is the Mast Head worth 20 HP and maybe 20 ftlbs vs a ported factory Ls3 head. Cost for the 20 HP is close to 4½ rather a 5k swap. The price hasn't changed much since Tim/87Hatchback told me the same thing about 4 yrs ago. And Tim had a 454 Hydraulic roller e85 build with ported Ls3 heads and Mast 4500 intake. 770ish HP & 9.3 et in a Mustang. Tim never switched.

Head swap will Not do as much as a bigger engine....same $ spent on a small bore head would or could buy a Bigger motor....You trying to buy heads for HP is good but ....the question you should ask yourself what is my goal...other wise your like a dog chasing it's tail. 750 and 800 were mine and knew 400 & 8 cubic inches could do both and be streetable.

When I build another engine, I want to see about 700-750hp at the crank.

700 .... To 750 isn't much....hell you got 700 now....you just don't know it. 750 is hard with the plastic but 700 is easy money.... We have Speedtrigger 402 and we need to make up the intake HP difference... That's 700 right? You have more compression✓ Cam < and all the little stuff ... There's not much you can change... Intake is the only restriction... Remember I got basically the same engine as you. 250ish cam and a 408 generally nets 730 to 750 HP with a 4 inch stroke and 402 or larger than 4 inch bore.

Basic way to 700 to 750 with 11+ compression and a 4 inch bore and stroke.

Wrote it twice for a reason... ^
Solid roller time as Tuskey said.
A 454 or 430+ ci would do or could do this with with ease & plastic intake. How do I know? TSP 454 made 750 with a factory plastic intake and Hydraulic roller.

Smoke your cam is a bit bigger than mine and you have more lift
what rpm are you revving the engine out to?
Next engine will be an LS7 spec at 427cid with a 4.125 inch bore.

Also I will either be using the msd from Mamo or the fast tunnel ram as it's also available for the LS7 style head.

My Max is around 7500.. I'd just work out having a plastic intake with more compression and or cam for 700.
Only difference in Speeds or Flying is one has more compression and the other has a SR vs the higher compression hydraulic roller...no major HP difference

700 is at the door...with a plastic intake Trust me. It just takes a little thinking of what's seen and how can we get around the intake.. to get there.

My favorite thing to do is spec engines using others references.......saves me $. I know what was done how can I improve what was seen. Reason I make friends with any Build I like.... Sometimes they don't give out spec's but a friend will. Or just call everyone or there engine builder on a good build... Did that also... Skip the engine owner🤫🤬😁

I know of it lil brother...but you get to a point of cost Vs the reward...just buy a bigger short block. Done. Resleeved @ that. Cheaper!
