Dart SHP Pro Iron 434

Never seen anyone high on grass deliberately looking for a fist fight but have seen plenty jacked up on liquid courage. A stoner is a much bigger threat to the couch and refrigerator.
I donot think he used Smokey as a drug reference. I think it was deference to Smokey Yanuck. Similar to his rowdy Yates persona

^^^no he defly was! The name Smokey B was more than likely derived from that movie Half Baked. The character "Scarface" always referred to everyone and everything as"B". Pretty funny movie.

i remember reading all the disapproval comments from him.
Strange world.
I think you made the wrong choice too but there's no point beating you up about it. It's your car and $$$$$ so you can do whatever you want. That's kind of the point of building something lol. Doesn't mean it can't be fun just because it's not what someone else would do. Fixed for you

If i had gone the mamo route with this engine the 235 head would have been the perfect fit and I would not have had to build another engine.
Knowing what I know i i probably would have built it a 416.
427 would need a 4.1 inch stroke.
Piston speed too high and longevity is compromised.
Plus piston would go out of the bore.
People are attacking him now over there also that he will never build it. You know i'm not going to hate on him just because he has an opinion whether i agree with it or not. Some people would say the same about me as i posted up about my ls7 daytona heads over there back in 2017 now. And i still haven't put it together and it's not even financial. But enough people will make assumptions, human nature. If i had someone here i can trust right now to finish my LS2 engine i have sitting on the stand and install it in the car together with refreshing my th400 and give the car back to me how i know i would have done it, i'd throw them 2 or 3k cash right now. Where i am i can't trust any workshop to build my stuff how i will, ie properly. I have to do it myself and i don't get enough time or motivation these days. I just want to drive it finished, not build it.

Edit: this site won't allow links. Let me try break it up into parts
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ification.html
It worked just putting a space between a few of the words! lol
edit...it’s not the site that won’t allow the links. We have sponsors and vendors here that keep this site running financially that sell parts.

I know this isn't my thread but can i ask you guys your opinions on this. I have the opportunity to purchase some lentz nascar rods, they have been used but they look to be in very good condition and not thrashed. They are oem sbc journal size and 6.125 long, 927 pins. They will fit LS even if i have to mill the small ends down a little. Would you guys trust used Lentz rods? Remember these rods are real expensive new, over 2k a set new i think, and made for continuous high rpm nascar, not a cheap chinese forging. I'm almost thinking to take a risk on them because of how beefy they look.

These are for my LS2 build and i was going to use the stock gen4 rods and run it SBE , but with forged pistons it wouldn't be SBE anyway. I've been holding out looking for a set of rods like this, but most of them that come along are honda size rod journals and the wrong width, typically not wide enough. These are a bit of a unicorn as they are the correct standard SBC dimensions, and 6.125" long. If there's a chance these rods might save me from grenading a long motor at 8k rpm versus a stock gen4 rod, they are worth the money.
I bought King HP bi-metal rod bearings a while ago but not sure if i should use those or something better. If anyone has any opinions on those.
Edit: on the rod bearings, i just realised they might be the XP series. I will have to look at the box later tonight and confirm. I just looked at it they are 807HPN which are HP series bi-metal. They seem to get good reviews so i'll run them. Back to Bort's build.....

Thought to update everyone on what is happening with engine so far.
At the moment the machinist is in Quarantine for 2 weeks so I am unsure when my parts are going to be balanced etc.
I guess around two more weeks.
Other than that, there is nothing else to report.
