Default LS crankshaft rear journal flexplate bolt holes

My 6.0 is on the engine stand andI'm priming the oil pump with the summit socket and drill. It goes to about 58lbs but it has oil coming through the flexplate bolt holes on the rear journal. I'm trying to picture why or how it would be doing that. I don't recall having to seal the flexplate bolt.

Those bolt holes go all of the way through and need to be sealed when installing flywheel/flex plate.

Good thing it's still on the engine stand. Make sure you clean the crank threads so the sealant works.

Yup: you can just look up in there and see the rest of the crank.

Use the Permatex/Loctite "high temp automotive thread sealer with PTFE". Hanging on a card at yer corner parts store.

And if the bolts were in the crank this wouldn't have been an issue either.
