I'll call them. Pic shows stud and nut, but the description on whatever site I was on said their locs were required, which didnt really make sense. The lengths were pretty different too

Nice build would love to see it on a dynojet once you get it back going again. Good luck!

Heads are off. Liners looks fine, so that is a relief.

1209x's are off and i am just waiting sone 0.015" spring shims to get here for the 1238x's. the 1209x's showed 120lbs @ 1.800 on my tester, they are completely shot considering they should be 160 at that height. Crazy it happened that fast.

I pressed all of the Comp and T&D bushings out and got the Comp bushings pressed in the T&D's. Waiting some round machine shims to show up since the T&D's are narrower than the factory rocker. Just need to eat up some of the side to side play between the c clips.

Did you go with the tool steel retainer? I think they weigh 14 grams
that 1238x is one hell of a spring.
can’t wait to see you get to the track

I went with the BTR Titanium retainer. I went with their 1238x package instead of PAC's this time.

You and me both, I'll go mad all winter if i can't make some passes this year.

Car is up and running again. All is good. Cam, lifters, liners all checked out. Pretty sure it was the passenger side gasket that got a tad angry but nothing all that obvious.

T&D's are on the Comp BSR shaft. Time consuming with my vice but straightforward. Comp studs aren't here yet but i has ARP bolts so i didnt wait. Still felt bad for those threads tightening down the shaft with all that spring pressure..

1238x's went in at 1.800" and cometic headgaskets got sprayed and installed.

Going patch the exhaust up on Monday/Tuesday and try to hit the track on the 13th, weather permitting.

Look good ,I’m interested in what times you’re going to run

i always thought that Cometic MLS call for dry installation is recommended.
are you reusing them is that why your spraying them just asking?

At this point, i will be happy to complete an entire pass under power lol. I pulled 4 degrees and added fuel just stay on the safe side, since i don't know the state of the springs by the time we finished tuning.. So i will creep back up on things.

Cometic will never tell you to spray their gaskets, because they have a surface finish requirement. I am sure my heads meet it, but i doubt the deck does since the bottom end has never come out of the car. These are new gaskets but i sprayed them to absorb any variation in the surface finish on the deck. People have been copper spraying cometics for quite some time.

I did that on my last set. There was a few that took a little more the next day. But I also sprayed the gaskets this time, too, lol.

Weather not looking good for tomorrow so no track. We'll try again next weekend. Until then, fixed the x pipe. SS elbows and aluminum back. Fab guy was begging me to drop the headers so we didn't have to double up v bands but dropping the headers is a royal pain in the *** imo. It's dumped for now and ungodly obnoxious. We'll tie the mufflers back in over winter, this was a bandaid to get me to the track.

Side note, new guy is fantastic but I'm buying a welder and doing this **** myself from now on.

Are you back in Michigan now? Or are you still here? If you're still here tomorrow you should at least come to 42 for a bit!

It's looking like the rain is going away by 9 or so now. Should be decent.
