Well Beard Congrats on the numbers. That is awesome thru an A4!

I have a good tuner. Have you tried an LS2 intake?

I have seen alot of good results with the LSX 90 but have only my results and one other to compare on the LS2. So far they have not been too good.

I would like to see some more results with the TPIS oval intake as well.
Right now it would be cheaper for me to upgrade to the LSX as I already have a TB and can get a good price on the intake.

I've just finished installing LS2 intake on my 99 SS camaro w/ported LS1 heads and 224 .561 110lsa cam, I kept the stock ported throttle body, just made an adapter plate between the intake and throttle body. Was running 12.30's at 115-116 on 1.9 60 fts. before with the same LS1 intake and same throttle body. I'm going to the track this friday, gonna keep the same tune and see what happens.

Results of compression test.

1)155 2)160
3)150 4)160
5)140 6)180
7)145 8)145

6 is high and all the rest are within 10% of the average.

I used a FAST TB with the LS2. Had plenty of problems with it myself.
I got a TPIS 90mm and sent the FAST back. Problem solved!

[QUOTE=Launch]I remeber back on this board in 2002/3 when high 10's were done with 5.7l ported heads and 224 cam on a stock short. At the time there was no 90mm TBs, FAST intakes, ewp's or massive juggernaut cams. Yet basic setups did 1.3 60s and trapped over 120mph.

QUOTE]

That sounds pretty Amazing to me.

Is SDCP the sponsor on this site? Thanks!! What differances are there between the 2 - Fast TB and TPIS TB`s?

Launch I am as perplexed as everyone else as to why I am so down on power.

actually if you had to richen the tune, i would say vacumm leak between the ports is very likely. and yeah you can easily lose a lot of power if this is the case.
The tune was rich not lean.
There was no vacuum leak with that intake.
If there was then the Idle would have been messed up. I have been running this setup with the LS6 intake for close to 6 months before the intake swap. If there were a vacuum leak I would have known. There were no problems with the Idle other than problems from the FAST TB I was running at first. All of those problems were solved with the TPIS TB.

I pulled the intake last night and all was well, no loose bolts.

I do alot of work on LS1 cars on the side and though I do not know everything I do know that if it were that simple I could have figured it out.

I have seen another member post up there Gains with this Intake with a 383cid motor. They made no gains untill 5000 rpm up. If the Port velocity is not where it should be then this would contribute to my losses at the track.

I should have a FAST Intake (90mm) by tue or wed and will be back on the dyno by Fri. Track times on sunday weather permitting.

Brad
