which would be better for the ls2/7 on the street/strip? im sure turbo lagg would be almost nonexistent on such a large engine.

So which engine do you paln on running? The is quite a difference in cubes between the two. Either setup would work great if setup properly, it just boils down to what you want.

ls7. i really want something that spools at around 2500-3000 to keep it streetable so im thinking a really big turbo that spools around there

If I was in your shoes I would go with a big single with the LS7. It'll definitely get the job done.

do you think a large turbo on a ls7 like the gt42r would have enough lag to spool around 2500? or would it be better to have 2 gt35rs?

2 gt35r for a ls7?? I thought those were a good match for an ls1 Seem a little small for an 427
