How about a supercharged LS7 Vette in 2006. Just get a new Z06 and put a Vortech,ATI, or Maggie on it. You could save 30,000 and have it right now.

Regarding the Supercharged Z06. That doesn't surprise me. I read somewhere that about 2008 the base model of the Covette is supposed to be 480HP.

GM is killing off development on other lines to work on this low sales volume product?

I think their focus is getting....well, more focused. For many years they've had multi-car platforms and it gets expensive. Basically, they were giving people choices. Now, it won't cost them as much to give people choices - you want a mid-priced high performance car? Buy a GTO. You want a high priced performance car - buy a Corvette.

It's called cost-cutting so these top-level managers can get their bonuses. Instead of 3 cars on a platform - Camaro, Firebird, T/A...you now only have 1 choice - the GTO.

Marketing the OLD Ford way - you can have any color, as long as it's black.

Yep, from what I heard, traction is what is keeping this on the bench for now.
They had difficulty with the Z06, so im sure the blown version is much worse.

NOSJohn: I agree, and thats seriously cutting GM's throat, because you can go out and buy a Mustang for thousands less, and have (Off the showroom floor) comparable performance.
NO..im not a Ford fan..but lets be honest, for the average joe consumer that knows nothing about cars, why pay thousands more?

A stock GTO is heavier, and not much faster than the F cars were.
I really like the look of the new Mustang over the GTO (That coming from a die hard Pontiac Family Member).
Based on GM's customer service, and reliability...I don't think I'll ever own a new GM vehicle again.

Theyre bringing out The LS7, and supercharged versions...but who can afford them? Same thing with the GTO and SSR.
Many people are laid off in MI, and its very tough for people that were in the Mid-range yearly income scales, and in their home state...GM knows this, but produce cars out of affordability range.

Plus I think if GM didn't have the UAW, they would be able to make things more affordably.

I agree totally on the Big Boss Bonus - In times where competition is tough, america is in a financial dispair, they need to set their Million dollar boats aside, and support their country, and make things more affordable for consumers.
But...there's so much money they've made so far, that it doesn't affect them.
And thats sad.

Just my own blurb.

I bet an all wheel drive 2008 vette would be awsome!!!! Of course it would have to be able to engage and disangage the AWD system for some nasty John Force burnouts. Thats a must

Sorry UAW member here. How do you figure? I know our wages are high and we have good benifits but we get $175 a year in profit shareing and every one of the CEO's get millions. Then they turn around and say that there lossing money? It's all over the news that GM has billions in reserves yet there claiming there poor. And also if its all the UAW's fault why do we have one sailary person for every 10 hourly? Lets look where the value added is and where the non value added is. My brother is salary at one of the GM plants here in Mi and I am hourly. I would hate to see him lose his job, or anybody for that matter, but come on look a the whole picture. All you here is how good we have it, and I will agree, but salary has it pretty good to. I dont always agree with the UAW on some of there in plant decissions and they help alot of people keep there jobs that they shouldnt. But if it wasnt for the UAW I dont think there would be a GM plant in the US right now. It would eather be in mexico or china. Then who could afford there products?

Sorry I have never been big on the praising the UAW but ITS NOT ALWAYS THE UAW"s FAULT!
