My block is an 05 5.3 alum block, and it requires the larger (more expensive) dampner.

I've got an '04 GTO block here and it's drilled but it's for the old damper

It also has the older 'long/short' head bolt holes.

Not installed from the factory. It should have the bosses which you may have to drill and tap for the dampner. My 98 block was drilled and tapped from the factory. I don't believe the 99's are drilled. You will have to check.

im putting a 04 model ls motor in my 98 z i was planning on just using the balancer from my stock motor with a ls2 timing chain set will this be ok ???
