LS7 vs L92 stroker install on a C6
Hello all,
First off let say this forum is a great source of info. Forum members seem to be very knowledgeable and courteous.
I've got the itch to mod my car. I have a 06 corvette, Z51 6spd, and I've been thinking about these options:
1 - cheapest - L92 heads, L76 intake and Cam.
2 - medium - L92 heads, L76 intake and L92 stroker.
3 - expensive - L92 heads, L76 intake and LS7 block.
All I've done to the car so far is long tube headers, dynatechs.
I like the idea of having crazy torque down low hence the idea of going LS7. I know the L92 stroker is a good value, 418 CID. Option number 1 is about half the cost of the other 2 so it wouldn't be as painful on the wallet. But i keep thinking if I'm going to do this might as well go all the way. If I go the stroker or LS7 I'm assuming dropping in either one should be fairly painless.
Are there any other options you guys recommend? shops in Dallas TX? Feel free to PM or email me.

If you want the most power of the 3 choices....choose #2 and go with an LS2 block (416ci...if you want a 427ci LS2 it'll just make X amount more power than the 416ci), L92 heads and L76 intake. And it'll be a helluva lot cheaper than a LS7 set-up.

I am doing the LS7 block based 427 with ported L92s and the L76. It cost me about $1k more that to do this over a 416. I just received the shortblock so I don't have any results yet.

I have about $7600 -$7700 shipped for the shortblock, cam, timing chain, gaskets, rockers, intake, harnesses (knock, LS1 to LS2 TB, cam sensor, MAP), oil pump, ARP head bolts, etc., and another $1860 shipped for the Livernios stage 2 L92s.

I was quoted 13201 for a 440 LS7 block w/ LS7 heads w/ all the needed stuff to go along. I just wanted to see how much you actually saved by going the L92 route over the LS7 heads route.

Thanks for your replies. Even though option 3 lost, I've decide to go with it. After much deliberation this one made sense for my wallet.
I am getting the ported L92 heads to help out a little so we'll see what happens. As soon as I get the car back I'll post some results just in case somebody is thinking about doing this.
Wish me luck.

Check out a&a corvette https://www.aandacorvette.com/cart/s...p?MainCatID=11
A guy in town has one of their 441CID C5R based strokers and that thing is WICKED He put me to shame on the freeway and Im putting down ~510rwhp and ~480rwtq. And I believe that his cam is in the 224* range because it will pass smog. All I can say is if I had the money...
