Default Colorado owner LS1 swap curious has arrived...

What's goin on, folks? I purchased a Colorado sport, I5 with the manual tranny about 6 months ago. I love the truck and it runs pretty well for being bone stock(15.5@88) but I'm hoping for more out of it. I'm thinking an LS1 may be in my future, or one of the smaller v8's. 4.8 or 5.3 possibly. I'm going to stay away from the iro blocked 6.0. I really don't think that much weight on the nose of my li'l truck would be smart.

Here's a few pics, I'll try not to bug anyone too badly while I'm here.

The only mod on the truck besides an oil change... A Z71 front air dam.

Welcome, those are sharp little trucks. An LS1 in one of those would be sweet.

Default nice truck man

yeah i would go with a ls1 because you can always make more displacement if that what you want without all the weigth of a 6.0 iron block nice truck man!!!

someone is already one step ahead of you with the ls1 in a colorado, do a search you'll find some info, maybe even gets some helpful hints from the guy

I've seen the guy's posts, but he puts very little detail into anything... Apparently he was still having ecu problems with the last times he posted.

Ah, well, whatever.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I figured this intro was going to jsut drop off the front page into oblivion.

Nice truck! i have a black Z71 colorado, I think about an ls1 in it everyday. That will probably be my next project after finishing my firehawk. I had to have one once i saw them up close. i'm looking for performance parts like intakes, exhausts and other easy bolt ons for the truck but so far slim pickens. great looking truck, let me know if you find out anything. hers some pics of my hawk and colorado.

Wow, Sharp Truck. I have loved those Colorado's since they came out. An LS1 would be so badass.
