Default first ls1

I picked up my first ls1 last week and was wondering what lids are decent and what some of you guys are running. i figured it would be a good place to start. its a 2000 trans am btw. it is my daily driver so nothing too extreme just a mild build probably

SLP is supposed to fit better and IF YOU CAN FIND IT a Blackwing lid is the best thing out there for looks/fit/durability imho.

GM High Tech did a comparo a while back that showed performance was about equal. I will say I had the chance to look at a Granatelli and a SLP side by side at Jegs, and the SLP lid was a much better looking piece. The SLP lid looked much more finished and like it would sit better.

First, Welcome to the site!
Research is going to save you lots of time and money!

Its true a lid is a lid is a lid. There wasnt much differance in between the gains on the lids. The cost for each lid was a different story.

I went ahead and did a search for you and this thread really sums it well.

Welcome and you don't need to be too mild to be a daily driver. There are plenty on here with some nice power that DD their vehicle. Just don't limit yourself too much.

you will get a little gain from the lid/k&n, but you wont be able to notice it.
