Welcome, great lookin ride!! I gotta ask though...why switch to a cowl hood on an SS. Are you planning to need it for clearancing issues? If you switch to another spoiler, I' ll gladly take your stocker off your hands!

Thanks Darth Z!
My plan is to make the car as light as possible, do major work on the suspension & rearend, and then either redo my LT1 or go with something else. Basically, I'd like to take care of my foundation first before I start with the bigger things. I'm keeping my rear spoiler...no plans for a change on that one. I have all my original parts in my garage and some in my attic. Gotta keep that stuff bro!

The stock hood should be lighter than that cowl, shouldn' t it? Don' t get me wrong, the car looks GREAT! It' s just that with your plans, you could already been way ahead of the game. Well, I had to try on the spoiler, but you damn 96-97 SS owners RARELY part with your spoilers. Some of you do, and go with the latter spoiler....just gotta find one of those guys!

Hey Darth Z!
Brother, my original hood eventhough it's fiberglass is very, very heavy compared to the cowl that I have now. I didn't weigh them, but I can tell you that when you go to pick them up you can tell a major difference! My next project for weight reduction coming soon is Bogart wheels and Stange drag brakes. Do you not like the looks of your spoiler? I just about changed mine for the newer one, but decided to keep that original look instead.

Hmmm, that' s strange, I figured like the wheels, OEM hoods would be lighter. I like the looks of my spoiler ok, but I want the slight flip of the 96-97 spoiler. Most people won' t notice it, but other will find it a nice compliment to my cowl hood. The later SS spoiler is nice too, but that' s the one everyone who' s NOT a ricer uses. Can' t be like everyone else!

Hey young lady!
I'll try to make it as soon as I replace my waterpump. Looks like you guys still meet every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month. A little hard for me since I work rotating swing shifts but I will try! Where do you hang out at? You have a good looking car yourself. By the way, nice picture of you. Take care!

Thanks lastcall190!
122,000 miles. Drove the car very frequently for the past 10 years until now. Too much money spent for a daily driver. I got me an old junky pickup truck that I drive most of the time. Lets see a pic of your ride brotha!

Nice car man. When I bought my 98 Z28, I had the chance to buy a red 96 SS. Let me tell you sometimes I want to kick myself for not getting it. Especially after seeing nice ones like yours, plus I wanted a M6 and it was and mine is not.

Back in 96' the SS Camaro came back as a Z28 SS. The first time I saw it, I knew then and there that I had to have one. 310 hp stock back then ain't much now, but back then it was quite awsome for a Camaro. If I had the money I would love to get my hands on a 97 SS LT4. That car went for $40,000 that only 100 fortunate souls were lucky enough to get! Anyway, I'll continue to mod my SS for now and hopefully one day I'll be able to get her done like I want. Thanks again brotha!
