Thumbs down Racetronix customer service/support is a joke

I was finally getting around to installing my fuel pump hot wire kit and found one of my factory connector was slightly melted, so I come inside get on my computer and check Rock Auto, Auto Zone, and WS6 Store with know luck. Then I did a google search found a thread on here from 2012 where the same thing happened and Racetronix said "please e-mail our sales dept. with this info," so I did the same late that night. The next day around noon I check my e-mail and I have a reply,"You may ask a tech about this and post a picture of the damaged part on our support forum. We may have the part." Whats the point of having an e-mail for the sales department if there to lazy and stubborn to sell you any parts. After I registered to become a member on there forum it takes 5 hrs before my account was approved, I looked around on their forum and noticed almost every question was answered by the same person, an Administrator with the screen name RXADMIN, so I figure I'll save my self the trouble of starting a thread and send him a PM only to get the response, "This is the webmaster. To engage with a tech you must post a thread in the proper forum location." So I start a thread and guess who reply's in it, RXADMIN the same tool that said he couldn't answer my question because he's only the webmaster. In the end it took almost 3 days of my spare time to get the parts I needed because they don't list a phone # on there website and wont give any tech support through e-mail. If life ever stops getting in the way of me starting the LSx swap in my Monte Carlo SS I'm definitely going to look into other options for it's fuel system or at least find a vendor that can help me with any questions I have so I don't have to deal with them again.

Oh, and I also started a thread on here and and Racetronix replied with the ever so helpful, "Have you posted about this in our support forum so a tech can help you?" Why would I want to join a forum just to get an answer that could have been taken care of in 1 phone call or 2 or 3 e-mails.

Sorry for the long rant but I needed to vent, and maybe Racetronix will realize that only having a support forum to handle tech questions is annoying, time consuming, and generally a bunch of BS.

I had a shitty experience with Racetronix as well. They know that they are by far the most reasonably priced pumps for our cars that fit without cutting the pump module to ****. It is almost like they are daring a company who gives a **** to compete with them.

exactly. i actually got really pissed at the guys. because i wasnt getting a response from the stupid tech board and got the same reply you did via email and pm. he then informed me it was a holiday so that i was lucky i was even getting a response. well if i would have had a phone number, i wouldn't have had to wait 2 days and contact on a holiday.... that pissed me off so bad i sent a few choice words back then just called the sponsor who sold me the pump and got it taken care of.

Actually if you have a 99-02 you can buy a Walbro Direct fit pump and Caspers electronics Hot Wire kit. I'm hoping I can figure out what model of Walbro pump Racetronix uses in their kit for 98's and will just buy that and a new filter sock.

Also how the hell are you guys replying to threads in here? I thought only Mods and Sponsors could do that, if I could reply in here there there are 7 other threads like this that I'd bump.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never
They can't be bothered to answer any tech questions on here but they will troll for threads mentioning them and ban you from there own forum. What a bunch of tools.

Well I have been dealing with Racetronix for the last couple of weeks about an issue with my fuel pressure. I wasn't all that keen about joining a forum just to answer a couple of questions. but all in all I am happy with how they dealt with me. Turning down a sale when I was ready to buy a new pump. I then spoke with them about replacing the tubes and when I was having a hard time getting the site figured out they actually called me at home to help.

Mr. Fry,

We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the way your inquiry was handled. Please understand that Racetronix is not a retail speed shop/store but rather a design and manufacturing facility. We do not have dedicated phone sales or support people here. This is what our dealer network is for. The vast majority of our customers value our forum because it provides 24/7/365 international access to technical resources outside of EST<>PST business hours. Just as in this forum, customers can view previous threads, diagrams, diagnostic information and interact directly with our technical staff without time limitations and common problems associated with e-mails and large attachments. Your thread is now a permanent resource that other customers can draw upon should they run into the same problem and require the same parts.

The parts we provided to you are not web store items but rather used in production only so identification was handed off to our technical staff once you posted a picture on our forum. Our production manager was able to identify the special parts you required and had a production worker locate and pull them from our warehouse. Our administrative staff then reallocated the parts from production inventory, produced a sales order and handed it off to our sales and shipping staff. All said and done we had your parts identified and order processed in one business day from your initial e-mail. Racetronix dedicated over an hour to process your order for $14.15 in parts. We have attached a copy of the sales invoice and our e-mail/forum correspondence for record. We had hoped that our efforts to save you much time and money getting you specialized parts at a reasonable price would have been met with a show of gratitude but instead we are spending valuable time away from helping other customers putting out fires on this forum.

In the future we encourage you contact any one of our dealers who sponsor this forum for phone sales and support.

Yours truly
Racetronix sales team

My problem was instead of simply exchanging 2-3 emails and getting the parts I needed, I had to join a forum, wait 5 hours for my account to be approved, then go back and forth for 8 hours to get $14.15 in parts.

As far as getting parts from one of the other sponsor on here, this was a hard to find specialty part that I couldn't even find a part number for. The only other sponsors that may have had this part would have been the one's that modify wiring harnesses, and even then it would have been a long shot.

Oh, and thank you for your concern with my latest problem with your product. Not that you would want to try to smooth things over by giving me the Walbro P/N for the pump used in your F98 fuel pump assembly.

Mr. Fry,

We are sorry we put you through so much trouble and made you wait hours for a reply. We did the best we could for you given the nature of your inquiry and our available resources. Normally if an item is not listed in our web store, we simply do not offer it for sale. We thought we were doing our best to make a customer happy but perhaps it was in vein. Given what has transpired here, we will refrain from offering such parts in the future.

Your profile indicates you purchased your F98 fuel pump assembly from the WS6 Store. WS6 Store is a reputable Racetronix dealer who will be able to help you with support questions, service parts and warranty. WS6 Store can be reached at 1-877-232-9701 (option 3) or sales@ws6store.com. Our part number for a new replacement pump assembly (less jig) is FPA-002A-SVC. All current production FPA incorporate our RXP Turbine-Tech pumps.

We recommend these educational fuel pump videos published by AASA:

Thank you for that last bit of customer service. All of this could have been avoided if you were this helpful to start with. Considering a person can't even reiw threads on the Racetronix forum until they've joined your forum answering questions here would be much more helpful as people might find the answers to their questions with a simple Google search. For your good will offering I'll simply let this thread die, and simply tell people they should only buy Racetronix products from one of your dealers and not direct, that way they will have better customer support available to them.

So just to be clear you are telling people to stay away from Racetronix because you didn't like to join a forum. This is after they sent you a part that isn't even on their list. I know I wasn't all that happy about the forum part either but it is the way they want it.
And now because of your whining they probably wouldn't try and help others out. Good job Fry.
