WTF?he said
"If there is no evidence of an oil pump "O" ring out of place, pump screen jammed against the bottom of the pan, oil pump spacers on backwards, contamination introduced from an oil cooler or old oil pump pickup screen, or any of the many other things that can happen during an installation, I'll replace or rebuild the motor at no charge AND help with the install.
Even if I DO find one of the above mentioned errors, I'll STILL replace or rebuild the motor at NO CHARGE but not help with the install labor. How much fairer than that can I be?" why would that be off the table?thats what he said.

I'm sorry to hear that Steve. The situation really sucks. I hope someone can stand behind their product. Wasnt Cam Motion cams at fault with the Futral cams that went bad? Its such a shame that you've put $10K+/- in a motor and install to have nothing in return. Let me know of anything I can do to help. Like Ben said, you can leave your car at our house till whenever you can get something figured out. I hope somebody steps up.

so he didn't come out and say that it would be replaced... perhaps that is because he assumes the agreement he posted on here will still be honored. i have to say that what he agreed to was more than i expected considering the longblock was not built in house. as such you still gotta control what has your name on it and i think he did a good job at that.
this isn't really my business, but until he actually says "i ain't payin or sending you a new engine" i would be getting ready for a new 402
i am pessimistic as hell when it comes to cars and when something bad happens i always expect the worst so i know what you are going through, having spent however many thousand and having literally nothing to show for it at this point.
i guess in a nutshell... it might still be worked out amicably without you losing your shirt.

Steve, I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like Andy is going to take care of you. I'm glad someone out there stands up with customer service! Whatcha got planned for the 402?

The car has been gone from the apartment since November of last year, if I remember correctly. At this point frustration only begins to describe the situation. Hopefully Andy is a man of his word, and all will be well. He did, after all, state: "My fault or not, I'll give him FULL credit towards the 402." - May 2nd, 2006

Seems like Andy is a stand up guy from what I read. Has he sent any pictures yet? what does it take 5 minutes to snap pictures if the engine is already tore down. I am going to keep an eye on this thread as I have watched your build up in the fi section. I plan on using a&a based off the results of your build.
