Default Has anybody installed the GM molded splash guards?

Hello, I just purchased the molded splash guards for my Impala SS (2006) and the dealer told me I have to drill an extra hole for the SS because it has the 18" wheels for the rear guards only? Just wondering if anybody has already installed these for some advise to make the install a little easier.

Install is a cakewalk . . .if i remember right you do have to drill a couple holes, but only in plastic. I think it took me all of 45 mins that that includes taking the rims off to get a good angle/look at everything. Biggest key for me. . .make sure to get all it pressed up on the body tight before you drill holes and again before you tighten everything down.

I know corny40 did as well. I've been considering it myself, but haven't decided to drop the $100 on them (incl. paint)...too many other ideas floating around in my head.

I installed them on my 2007 Imp and left them flat black. I scuffed up the backside of one and painted it with plastic/rubber black paint to match the car and held it alongside the car along with the flat black original and the 3 people I polled all liked the original color best. Just my results.....lol

I did my own polling of some of my friends, all like the non-painted version. I tend to agree. I will be installing them tonight after work @ 11:00 PM (yuck)

I got the molded non-painted flaps and LOVE THEM. Dont paint them, easy to install, but like they said, take of the rear wheels and get them tight.

The GM molded splash guards are top notch fit and finish ... I have 3 sets of them now, molded specifically to your car's panels.

Put them on yesterday, was a breeze, look pretty good too. I didn't put them on for looks though, have been getting some chips on the drivers and passenger doors.
