want to swap from my obd1 for a obd2 pcm, have questions
I did a search and came up with is all i need is a obd2 pcm basically and have it tuned for my wire harness aka delete the rear o2's and crank sensor. True? I want to change to a obd2 because it seems its a lot easier to get it tuned then my obd1 stuff. For example, speed inc. cant tune my car untill Ion@madz28.co is there to dyno it and reflash my stuff where as if it was a obd2 car they can dyno tune it now.... (from what i have gathered, correct me if im wrong). To sum it all up i want a obd2 pcm for better tuning capabilities. Anyone do this or know what i would need to do?

There are guys in your neighborhood that can tune obd1, just have to ask around. OBD1 is simpler to tune, but it also shuts fuel off a little sooner on redline, than obd2.
I would think there would be some wiring, to be done, to swap pcm's...Id think.

we did the first known obd-ii converions.
To make it easiest you need to change the knock sensor to a 96-97 sensor and run a wire from the PCM to the ALDL. You have a 94 so you need a OBD-II plug also. We have converted 5-6 cars over the years. We did the first two in 2000 to get over the stall wall. We found a few perks along the way! First it takes a minute less to load a tune It also got us past the stall wall(first to do it at the time). We also found the cars seemed to be easier to dial in and ran smoother over all. On top of this OBD-II seemed to have a more forgiving communication protocal and a recovery system I have seen people loose OBD-II PCMs but over 90% of the time as long as you stay hooked up they will regruop and finish. I have had it take over 15 minutes but it worked.
I may be the only OBD-II PCM in the ten's N/A
I am sure other are two but hey I can dream LOL!
Shoot me a PM if you need any thing.

you are correct about the OBD1and OBDII tuning situation with us
I consulted Ion about the swap as well since I have 2 really good customers which we test a lot with and they are OBD1 cars.
connectors
wire to ADL
knock sensor
it didn't sound too bad and if Ellis here has done a few then you and I both may be good to go with his help

Yea I run a FAST XFI but had a OBD1 computer for years and have tuned them for years. I have watched Moe tune OBDII and OBD1 cars and had several II cars swap to 1 and picked up power. Just basing my opinion on my experiences. If no one tunes OBD1 in your area then I agree you need to swap to OBDII so Larry can do it.

Im not rippin on ya Tony, just picking on that other guy I loved how ya said "i can make big power with the lt1 so ill stick with it" in ure artical so im sure you have PLENTY of experiance with these motors. I dont understand how you can make more power with a I car then a II car

I have a 96 OBDII car (factory of course) and I asked ED Wright about swaping it to a OBDI since I heard we could make more power. He advised me to stick with what I have
I figure he knows what he is talking about.
