Formula350- dont hate on the shifter LOL as far as the hood idk if im going to go with that one or something diff. i want a pin on hood so i can ditch the latch and all that crap.

If you want a hood to pin-on, why not a standard WS6/Ram Air hood, then it won't be so gaudy looking Dunno, just personal preference on the ram air hoods :\ 98+ stays on 98+ FIREBIRDS (lots put them on Camaros :puke: )

yea deff man. i would love to have kept the heat and such...but i dont drive it in the winter so it doesn't really matter...and the a/c well thats t-tops out at 70 with the mullet blowing in the wind LOL(so all the ricers say)

anyone have any idea how much weight i have taken out? i didnt weight anything as i was taking it out i wanna say ive dropped 300 pounds or so

Check Beaflag's thread, probably around page 3 or 4 now, but he tallied up all his gutted pieces. He ripped out a TON of stuff and I was surprised that he just barely broke 300lbs.

I can tell you right now that you're not around 300 lbs.

Mines near 306 lbs, but that only includes the items I am not putting back in. Mine is still going to have the AC, PS, both stock front seats, and all the interior panels.

Front Bumper Support = 25.375 lbs
Fog lights and brackets = 4.0625 lbs
Cruise control, cable, and throttle cable cover = 4.4375 lbs
Air pump and brass fittings = 5.9375 lbs
Stock horns = 1.875 lbs
Stupid siren and loud horn = 2.5 lbs
Stock Y pipe and single cat = 21.1875 lbs
Frame horns = 5.125 lbs
Fender metal = 1.25 lbs
Rear Seatbelts = 4.1375 lbs
Aftermarket Speaker Wiring (will be added to considering there is a ton more of it) = .25 lbs
Carpet = 29.0375 lbs
Windshield washer fluid resevoir with water = 8.0625 lbs
Heat shields beneath the car = 2.1875
Soon to be useless exhaust hangers = 2.00 lbs
Rear Seats = 22.4375 lbs
Random exhaust hangers, brackets, nuts, and bolts = 9.25 lbs
Front Speakers = 2.75 lbs
Rear Speakers = 3.25 lbs
Front Speaker Brackets = 1.25 lbs
Interior brackets including (rear seat brackets, antenna bracket, rear seat belt brackets) = 3.875 lbs
Security System Hood Lock = 2.6875 lbs
Antenna + Wire (not including the actual metal rod) = .25lbs
Stock catback = 50.1875lbs
Rear Armrests = 4.21875lbs
Extra Metal Trimmings = 1.00lbs
Emergency Brake System = 12.125lbs
Door Fiberglass = 1.90625 lbs
Door Crash Bars and Brackets = 17.5625 lbs

Grand total to this point = 305.884699 lbs + all the stuff I still have to either cut out or weigh.

I still have roughly 300 lbs that I plan on removing or cutting. I had a really good list of everything I have and planned on removing going on my other computer, but it crashed. I need to try and get it off of there some how. It should be around 2900 lbs with me in it once it is operational. Eventually, I could get it down to 2650 retaining the amenitites I listed above by my calculations, but plans have changed and I'll be adding a few heavy objects.

There's a link to my 93 project in my sig if you would like to check it out. I should be updating it starting next week. I'm working on gathering parts for the new engine now and I should start putting the interior back together on Monday or Tuesday.

Good luck with the weight reduction. The most important thing to remember in regards to taking out weight is all of the little things add up.

holy crap man thats a hell of a list you got there. thanks for the reply it looks like i most of the stuff you have on the list plus the entire hvac system and power steering. your car is gonna fly once its done. ive been following your build on both of your cars for some time youve done some great work. thanks again for the reply man.

i just had to repair my rear qtr panel and was soooooo tempted to start takin out all kind of excess metal...but...its not time for that phase yet...cant wait tho

yea man i was hesitant to start but once i started cutting i couldn't stop. next is all the rear seat brackets, and all the other misc brackets.
