I dont know man its kinda hard to tell I want to say it sounds like there is a miss in it. I just cant tell for sure that is alot of lope in it more than what mine has and my cam is XE 236/242 .555/.576 lift. Definetly something a miss here you should not be haveing the lowend problems you are. Any backfires or anything have you pulled the plugs and checked those out see what they look like?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to think of something I had some lowend problems one time but it was from 2 loose spark plugs and one electrode burned off. Just tring to think most problems are in the higher end of the rpm band with missfires and what not don't hear much like this not me anyways.

I have not pulled any plugs just yet. I will though, I am thinking about replacing ALL of them when I replace the opti.
I know its not a plug wire though because I have the OTVC kit and can see that none of them are grounding out anywhere.
What is the LSA on your cam?

It does not seem like there is a miss at all. I have held it at 3000 just to listen to it and nothing. I have been tols before though by ss.slp.ls1 that he had this before and shortly after his opti crashed...I will be replacing MY opti very soon
These codes never came up till after the cam swap, and it ran great before. I put 3 lengths on an 00 LS1 with a good *** driver before the swap and was pulling away from it at top end...

Well ss.slp.ls1 is very knowledgeable on LT1's or cars in general always giving good advice he could be right. Was there any engravings on the cam that you notice or might have double checked the specs on it before you installed it? Since you are pulling the Opti just change out the cam with a custom one while you are at it not much more work. LOL

except the new cam...I cant afford a new cam right now, and plus, this one should not be causing me any problems! May not be the "best" option for the most power, but it should add some power and run good from what I have gathered. Why replace it if thats not the issue? Unnecessary spending of money I dont have

I will take a new video of my idle tomorrow I have a new tune on it from Ion. Just so you can tell the difference in the idle/rev. I am also dumped at the headers like you so exhaust is comparable on ours cars LOL. Yea I hear ya on the new cam no point in wasting money I was just playing anyways.

ok. Once I get the exhaust hooked up tomorrow I can listen to the engine and make sure everything is kosher...no ticking and such. I cant hear it right now though. I will re-verify my lash and go from there. If none of that solves anything it will be time to do the opti, and ill hit the spark plugs at the same time. Work my way around after that and see what I can come up with.

From the wording it sounded like they just put stock heads back on. Those heads flow better on the exhaust than the stockers so you should be ok with a single pattern cam.

That cam should have gobs of tq and roast street tires from a dig at half as high a launch. You need to get it on a dyno and datalog it to see whats up. Your combo has potential for a great street car(even if it is a unique setup) and should be performing a lot better then it is.
No need to tear it down or get anything new, just find out what is wrong with it and I promise you'll enjoy the car 100x more .

Yes! That cam sucks in my opinion And AFR is A Bunch of hype! The zz409 was designed for the TPI l98 motors if not mistaken. And TPIS are Damn sure TPI People!

How does it make a difference if its for TPI or SFI? It was made for an LT1 engine either way. And what exactly sucks about the cam?
AFR is hype??? Check the flow numbers on their site for the 180cc Eliminators, since TPiS does not have flow numbers look at the numbers for the 195cc Eliminators and I am somewhere in the middle...flow numbers are not hype...if it flows that much, it flows that much.
Provide a little background here instead of just bashing on parts and not telling me why

Flow #'s are flow #'s lol! Tpi's Dont flow well above 5,000 rpm with the stock intake. LT1 and Tpi are two differnet animals. In your first Post you say the previous owner was setting it up for a blower? That means you might be sitting @ 8.5/1 or 9/1 comp ratio? Not Good For a N/A Application.Not trying to bash your setup Bro. I Just think you have a mismatched combo. Since you didnt Build this motor yourself and your going off what the dealer ship said. Who Knows whats in your motor? A Well setup heads and cam stock shortblock lt1 should run really low 12's at our altitude. And Beating the **** out of bolt on and cam only Ls1's. Just My 2 cents.
