I adjusted them. With the engine running I backed them off a slight bit until they made noise, then slowly tightened them again till it stopped making the noise, then gave it an 1/8 turn after. After I did that, everything ran nice, strong and quiet for a change. No ticking, nothing. I slowly reved it a couple times listening closely and nothing. Reved it quickly a cople times, still nothing. Cut it off and wiggled the rockers to make sure they were still tight, and all seemed well. That was when I put it all back together and test drove it...

ok, now...regarding this situation since I am at work now and cant look for myself.......What potential damage am I looking at IF a pushrod or two came out of the rocker?

Gimme a "worse case scenario" and then give me a "likely to be the case in my situation" so I know what I need to look for exactly. I have never had a pushrod come out of a rocker before...

Also name some good 1.6 SA RR's for my application. I have the Crane Cams Gold Aluminum Race SA 1.6's right now. Is there something better out there? Anyone recommend anything else? Or should I go back to these?

The crane's you have are fine. If a pushrod got lose I doubt there would be much damage at all if any. But if you broke a rocker and the broken parts from it made their way into your oil you might be Looking at a rebuild.

I have Crane Gold also I had a problem at first with 1 or 2 coming loose it was just from me not tighten them enough though. Worse case for your situation you bent a pushrod or scarred one alittle I would think. I bet you will pull the cover up and you will find they are just loose again prob didnt do much damage. Of course anything is possible though but I wouldnt worry much about it.

Dont spend any money on parts unless you have to! The rockers are prob fine just readjust them and put some loctite on them after words.

Dam Pyro beat me to it.

lol, I wil linspect them and see what I find...if they are damaged I will stick with the cranes and just replace the damaged ones. I'll give the blue loctite a shot and see what happens. Thanks all!

the crane golds are good rockers. There basically GM 1.6rr's anodized gold. pull the valve cover before you start jumping to conclusions or buying unecessary parts....

If I found it was the rockers loosening up for sure, and nothing else was at fault, they would go straight in the f'n trash!

"Good" rocker arms dont loosen up.

I'd also swap out for NSA 7/16's artillery IF you end up buying new.

I agree but if the rockers were never tightened enough to begin with of course they are going to come loose. If they were self locking nuts then I would be like yea they are trash but person installing them has to get them tight to begin with.

It doesn't matter what brand of rockers you have. If they aren't adjusted properly they will come loose.

ok. Got the valve covers off and one poly lock on the driver side had almost completely backed off. all others were tight as can be. IMO I am willing to bet I missed that one somehow and didnt lock it, and it backed off.

I re-set the lash on it, bupmed the engine, and re-checked to make sure it was tight and it seems good now. I tightened the **** out of every lock after that to make sure they were ALL tight...I'll wait till morning to fire it up and listen to it...dont wanna wake the neighbors lol.
