Default First start up on new motor, what all should I do?

Just wanting to know what all I need to do before doing a first start on my 383. I know I need to prime the oil pump but have never done it on a LT1 before, and just want to know what else you guys do.

A list would be great! Thanks

appearantly there's a attachment that goes to a drill and goes through where the oil pump shaft dealie is in the lifter valley

I forgot to do this, but I survived lol

make sure you got pretty much plenty of every fluid near by. I'm sure you'll find a leak or two pretty quickly.

pull the coil wire and injector fuse, that way the car isnt getting spark or gas, turn it over untill the oil pressure is up, Plug it back in start car and let it idle 20min watching the oil gauge. Change and inspect oil. Let it rip!!!!! Id recomend Rotella 15w40 if you havent bought any oil yet for break in and the 2nd change. Hell I think Im just gonna stick with it. I have never heard one negitive comment about it.

Check for leaks, oil pressure, how close the base tune is on it (exhaust smoke etc is more or less the only way the basic mechanic can see something odd). Once it has been base tuned, or dyno tuned, just run the **** out of it and never look back.

Change oil after 20 miles, then intervals at your choosing I did it this way.

20
200
1000
3000

I know you never asked for break in procedure, but hey haha.
