for the kit you need a ls1 (411) ecu, a ls1 colis dont matter truck or car. mine is the truck coils and a ls2 maf (5 wire) and a lt1 wiring harness converted to a ls1 from efi or a lt1 24x harness on ebay for $350 then the crank and cam trigger/ sensor from efi connection and a timming chaine cover for the 96-97 vette with the whole for the crank sensor

I have a few questions regarding this new LS1 style setup.

#1 I have a 1996 Caprice 9C1 and when I go to get my emissions done they will think I have the stock LT1 PCM and it won't read correctly and I would fail, so how are people doing this with 96+ emission vehicles?

#2 Also I hear the tuning capabilities with the LS1 PCM are far better then the LT1, does this mean you can tune the PCM yourself and not have to send out your ole junk LT1 PCM to get it flashed for the specs you want?

So does anyone have pics of the harness installed in their F-body?? I see a lot of threads about the 24x kit, but no pics of their harness all laid out.

I'm going to be taking the plunge this fall and would like to see how everything fits

Cruise control is more or less stand-alone. The only part of the engine harness related to cruise control is the VSS output from the PCM...and the cruise control module gets that signal from the dash harness (not the engine harness).

In short, cruise control will still work.

^^^Thanks for posting that up. Seems like most guys are repinning their own harness. But mine is hacked from doing the M6 swap and there are alot of connectors that are broken. I'll probably be ordering the complete kit sometime in the fall

Finally doing the conversion slowly but surely. Here's some photos that I've taken so far. Still waiting on other parts to finish the conversion. Sorry: pics are not in order.
