Default I guess im getting old

10 years ago I could take out my engine, dissasemble, re-asemble, and re-install in one day. I could do a heads-cam swap in half a day. I could do major stuff like that with no worries.

Fast forward to today. Now I work at a snails pace on the car. More maticulus and careful. But more of just can't keep the pace I used too. Right now there is a ton of work I need to do on the car. The hardest part for me is getting in the garage and getting started on it. I walk in there, look at it, then walk away!

Wish I had the energy from 10-15 years ago. My car would already be back on the track making passes by now.

You're not getting old! It's all in your head! I would come finish it all off for you if I could find a replacement to take my exams next week lol

IVE had this problem before. you just need to think about how much good will come out of it when its done. that will motivate you to start. once you start you will cruise. stay goal orianted and have a plan. see ya at the shootout.

As you get older its hard to get motivated to work on the car along with being more careful because a mistake is gonna cost more money and down time.

I am waiting to get my stuff back to put it back together, I tinkered with the car while it was out.

As you get older your priorities change I guess, I may sell mine after the shootout.

I also find it difficult to get motivated the older I get. I just need to quit taking the damn thing apart every winter I guess Now I've got a couple of local guy's LT1s in my garage I'm working on, gotta get those done before I can get motivated to put mine back together.

I've got the same problem right now but only because I've got 2 pinched discs in my back, I usually walk in there every other day or so and look things over..think about it, say nahh and walk away

just think about the end result for some motivation! that would be enough to motivate me if I didn't need painkillers to bend over, I dont wanna be whacked out wrenchin on my engine.. lol doubt I would get things right!
now get in there and get wrenchin!!

Well,

Im 33, been married 7 years, two wonderful kids, nice home, nice vehicles...etc. I did not have that 10 years ago. So I guess priorities have changed big time! LOL!

I have a bad back as well. Two disc herniations on L4 and L5. I really need surgery. I have been going through injections for 2 years with no luck. My back caused me to get out of shape. Maybe thats another reason it is harder for me to get motivated.

Ouch, back problems are the worst! I've had lower back issues for a couple of years from when I used to lift. Now if I stand for too long or get up from laying down too quick, it really, really hurts. I'm only 21. Word of advice, don't chew more than you think you can handle when it comes to lifting.

Within the last couple of years, it has become more & more difficult to muster up enough energy to go to bed.

Worst part is getting started, the time it takes to get into the garage and pick up your first wrench is the longest, hardest part of the days work on a car.

Yes and no. I still have the passion for racing and I still love the car. I now only work on it an hour here, and an hour there compared to the all night thrash sessions from years back.
