AI Cam with Le2 Heads now...Move to a bigger cam?
I've had bolt ons and a custom grind AI cam up until this past week when I put on some le2 heads. With the cam and bolt ons the car put down 359whp/348wtq. The cam is 224/234 110 (lift: .563/.577).
With not having my dyno tune until June, I'm going to change the timing cover gasket. Now I'm considering, since i'm that close to the cam....why not put a bigger/better cam in at the same time. (Side note: my motor has about 13k on it since being rebuilt with the AI cam). Either way I will be getting dyno tuned in June to make it all ready to go whether I stay with the current cam or change it.
I'm not sure that another cam will net me any more hp/tq so I'm still on the fence about it. I'm not wild over a cam so big I have to spin it into the upper 6k range to make good power.
I'd love some suggestions.

i know your rockers are 1.6, but if that is the spec on the cam card (not sure if it is done differently but mine states that it is speced at 1.5) then your lift with 1.6 rockers is actually closer to .600
divide by 1.5 and then multiply by 1.6
divide by 1.5 and then multiply by 1.6

more often than not you are right - but sometimes its not and that is why i asked
but i agree with you on the power, i like the looks of that grind - especially for a stroker street car.

Maybe I will bump into you at GLD sometime and can show you you do not need a huge cam.
You said you don't want to spin into the upper 6000s. That cam with good heads/valvetrain should still make good power to 6500 so you do not want a bigger one.
My cam is not that much more duration and the pcm wont let me find out when it stops making power.

No way would I touch that cam. It should be 400 RWHP capable e those heads and everything else working for you.
A bigger cam might get you 7-10 HP but lose a ton of mid range / average HP and THAT is what makes a car fun on the street AND track.
Don't touch it. Spend your money and efforts elsewhere and you'll see more gain imo

Dial in what you have now, that setup has more in it. Was your last tune on stock heads? Just a good dyno tune should pick it up some.
I went 11's with a very similar CMotorsports grind cam on worse heads, and it only made a hair under 350 to the wheels through a stalled auto...it peaked at 6100.

if your going to go bigger you need to get something huge, do you really want to do that??
Stay where your at or toss in a SR or large HR. No point otherwise, you ll put down 400-415rw(m6).
