because u can alredy build 427+ci ls1s with off the shelf stuff or gm ls7 stuff.
and more importantly no heads and intakes need to be converted to feed these size engines. thers plenty of heads and intakes ready to go.

need more ci? the gm lsx block is where its at.
building one of these ltx things is gonna ring up higher than building up a lsx block build. and even then, the lsx will still have the advantage with heads/intake ready to bolt on. not waiting around for someone to convert u set of sb2.2 heads and intake, or whatever u can dream up.

In the end it would be cheaper. You would be saving on swapping harness/pcm, wiring gremlins, k-member, random **** here and there. LT1 ftw..

Most of the guys here "myself included" with the money we have spent on our LT1's could have bought a complete LSX swap, But dont. My car came with a LT1 so i, us we will keep it that way. Like ive said before If i want an LSX car ill just go buy one.

x2... Keeping it LT1. It's just a pride thing for me. I love the lsx platform, but I'm not going to convert my car. I'll just get my realistic dream car one day (C5 ZO6 vette).

It would definitely be nice to see a production run on these big bore LTx blocks, and a nice price as well

Plenty of 1st gen guys stick with old sbc/bbc power, plenty of them move on to lsx platforms. I understand that people have preference/sentiment towards keeping their car original-based, myself included. And yet others want to constantly change with new tech, which is something that I wouldn't mind moving on to as well. So I don't see the need to turn this into a pissing match over this being a dumb idea or not. Obviously, it garners some interest, so let's see what we can make of the opportunity.

then you would be like every other lsx car around. lsx cars are a dime a dozen. how often do you see and nice and fast ltx? not very often. dont get me wrong i have a procharged c5, 700 at the wheels and its nice/fast. but im still partial to my ltx camaro!

So how do you go about selling a rare block to 1 of 10 fastest LTX owners?

Everyone that wants it has the full amount pre authorized on a credit card, then out of that group of racers a lotery is started, one lucky guys gets it via UPS a week later??

If Clayton is fine with making a set amount on the block it would help out the guys trying to buy it. There is no telling how much it would go for now that the ltx racers missed out on the first one.

Just my 2cents

I would love to have this block also but by the time it would said and done, I could easily have built a 500+ci. BBC that would destroy this LT1. If I had the cash I would buy it in a heartbeat still. We are just a bunch of crazy LTX lovers I guess. LOL

g.m will give up the casting or rent them in due time..they do that with any block almost..im sure you have heard of darts iron eagle..what most dont know is that block castings before dart bought the castings was the g.m's rocket block..G.m leased the block castings to dart for 2 yrs at first and then dart bought the castings and modded the water jackets some..other then that the iron eagle is exactly the old gm rocket block..
