I thought this was a thread about why we keep ahold of our LT1s?

Half of it is... the other half was about how weak the ls1 block is acording to a few other members. Figured i would stir the pot one last time!

if we can go back to why we keep these cars and not platform superiority, then let's do it, otherwise let's shut this thing down and call it done

Lol the stock block LT1 still went faster with Stock LT1 heads, maybe this will be the LS1s lucky yr. BTW nobody ever said its weak junk or anything like that., just that its not as strong as a iron LT1.

BTW Threads like this are the reason I still love my LT1, because it can compete and this thread proves it. Not once did I ever say the LT1 was better besides my joke post.

From an LSX should power everything point of view I will say this. No LS powered car has ever given me even close to the exciting ride as my first encounter in my friends 200k+ LT1 Formula. Don't want to make the LS guys mad, i'm one of them, but your LT's sound better by far than the LSX whatever hands down. Nothing sounds better to me. Keep those LT1's going. Whatever it takes. Have some pride in your car! Look at AChotrods sig pic. Mmmmm... Damn sexy and I bet it sounds better than anything I have heard in a long time. Keep them running!

Not looking to start over again on another 4th gen is why. I like fox bodies, but I don't want to have to do all the stuff I have had to do on my 93 all over again.

I know, just havin some fun... you have too when these threads come up lol!

* Noyzee's car has a completely bone stock bottom end and bone stock 243 heads. I dont think any lt1 will go mid 9's on the stock internals and stock unported heads... Yes the iron lt1 block is stronger than the ls1, but 99% of the time people never come close modding to either blocks limitations anyways...

It hasn't been proven or tested, so how can you say that for sure? You can't exactly...well you can, because you like to make claims without proof. I'm done with this thread.

Just to be clear, I love LT1s, repect their potential as basically the same as an LS1, and think both are inferior to the new LS motors. POWER! In the end, we all drive V8 pony/muscle cars, and like modding them so just have fun with what ya got.

the 96 was an upgrade from my 91... when I wrecked the 96, so much of it was still usable so I swapped most of it into a 97 and here I still am with "the dinosaur". hehe..

I think whenever I switch cars again, I'll steer away from the LT1's... but maybe not, who knows. To me, its just been a fun self paced learning experience. If I had the money, shop, and time... I would love to build an electric motor car. I'll probably end up doing some sort of LS1 swap to something older. Overall, I learned alot from my LT1 and am greatful for all the parts and websites that exist for people like us who keep these babies running.

I think MAYBE it can get close to mid 9's with the LT4 heads unported? I dunno

finally finished reading this entire thread. LOL

All I know is I want an lq w/ some nice heads. Bad *** power without all the ruckus. And if I want I can add the ruckus.

I'm not gonna lie, I got into the lt1 because I couldn't find an LS car (especially a TA) in the $5600 range at the time.

I still love what I have and I am contemplating keeping my LT body forever, just w/ a heart transplant.

I've done so much to this car already, that I am in love. Not much power yet, but hey, at least I can't say, "I have too much in it, to not switch powerplants"

I figure, if i learn how to work on cars with my lt1, mostly every other car will be easier to work on...
However, sometimes i feel like setting my lt1 on fire
