Default gauges acting weird

Ok my car is a 95 Camaro Z28. For the past couple of days the voltage gauge has been reading a little low and today the gauge dropped down in the red and my other gauges just started jumping around, this only last for a second and then goes back to normal, this happened 2 times today. The car still ran fine. I was wondering if maybe it's a bad ground or something, anyone else ever have this problem? Also E-Brake light in the dash works sometimes and not others.

Ok, now the car is getting hard to start. The other day when i put the key in and turn switch to the on postion but not to start it, none of my dash lights came on and the door ajar buzzer either. I then moved the ignition lock cylinder just a hair and then everything worked fine. I think its maybe the switch but i'm not sure, anyone else had problems with the lock cylinder?

sounds like a bad battery, tighten the connections even if they dont wiggle and if the problem is still there get the battery tested. One of my buddies continues to run his car with a bad battery and his gauges start to sweep out of no where and do some really weird things

Check your battery connections, it's likely that the battery posts are ground up and stripped or uneven. Your battery may be weak as well. I had the same problem and the battery was garbage, a new one fixed it. Check your alternator too.

I had a similar issue awhile back. Car would run fine, then sometimes when going over some rough road and then hitting the brakes (or turning on brights, or something else to pull current) all my lighting would dim, gauges would sweep a bit, etc. Turned out the positive terminal was not only loose, but corroded as well. Check all the main power and ground connections at and off of the battery, check for corrosion.

I know my water pump was leaking so i took it off and while i was there i checked my opti to see if water had gotten in and there was some water at the bottom of the opti but the water looked kind of gooey, anyway i think that may be my hard start problem. I guess i'll order a new one from Chandlers since i can't afford anything else right now got to get a water pump and opti harness too.

I pulled the plug wire off the coil and used a screwdriver to check for spark, is the spark soppossed to be blue or an orange like color, mines the orange color. How do i check the resistance of the coil, i mean where do i put the prongs. I read anything higher than 5000 is bad.

You've stripped you battery terminal. you will never be able to get a solid connection again. Replace your battery. There's no way to fix it.
