I just finished an LS1 lid conversion and for now I'm using a stock lid with a silencer. I'm looking for and aftermarket lid but wanted to see what everyone had to say about what's out there. I have a Glasstek 4" cowl hood so clearance is not an issue. I'm just looking for the best bang for the buck. Thanks.

Just tell him, damn. Do not reply at all if all you're going to say is "do a search". The thread is already here and takes the same amount of time to answer.
All basic lids are the same, period. The only difference among lids are when you start going up in size to match bigger TBs and intake manifold combos.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there's anything I should steer clear of or anything that might be on sale right now. For those who actually helped please teach the others to be useful. LOL. If you have to say this subject has been beaten to death you need to find a life outside the internet.

Nice!! This is the info that helps. The only other thing I'm worried about is fitment but that shouldn't be a problem with any lid. I have a lot of extra room. Thank you all for the info.

I had a Trickflow elbow and a Moroso CAI before this. Just look at the setup. My old setup had the filter behind my bumper cover getting very little air and 2 90 degree bends before the air made it to the tb. The LS1 lid setup is a straight shot getting cold air from under the car.

avoid the whistler lid, thats what I got cause it was a good deal and I assumed there wasn't any difference. well idk for sure but I would think other lids like the slp are made out of a higher quality of plastic that has some flex to it, the whistler lid is made out of a hard & brittle plastic that seems like you could break it dropping it etc

A dyno will show little to no gains from this mod. On a dyno you just have a fan trying to keep the car from overheating on the pulls. Out on the street you're moving so air is being forced into your intake.

On a ram air T/A there really isn't a difference. This mod is mainly for Camaros that have the intake routed down behind the bumper.
