cracked manifold(pic)!!! 94 formula
so last week I noticed my 1994 formula being a little louder, didn't think too much about it, thought maybe the c-clamp on the catalytic was loose and slipped a little. then about a week later getting on the freeway and getting above 3,000rpm the car started to sputter like a small burp or a tiny bit of bad gas. thought not too much of it so I revved it up higher to see if it'd clear out. after parking, driving it again, it didn't do it for the first few minutes...then it seemed once the car warmed up it would start to do the sputter/small misfire, only it was doing it above 2,000 rpm. I popped the hood to check to see if I had any loose spark plug wires and while rummaging around I saw my passenger side exhaust manifold has a fatty crack at the elbow after the 4-1(see pic). now I want to believe this is the cause to my car problems, thinking that once the car has run for a little, the o2 sensor is telling the engine to run richer causing the misfire. I haven't had a chance to take it to my autoclass to put it on any of the fun tools to really check it out.
the part that really sucks is, my car has 237,000 miles, runs rather strong and I don't know that I want to continue 'dumping' money in it. it's been a year of car repairs. I spent hours searching on the net for a replacement oem manifold and found absolutely nothing that matched this casing number. The results I get are from people with 3rd gen firebirds, that doesn't make sense to me. Either way, I don't know that spending 500$ on a header kit is the logical thing (if you think so, which one do you recommend), i'd rather just try and find a cheap oem replacement for both sides. anyone have a clue about the part number?

If you want a good set of headers and don't want to spend a lot of money, just pick up a pair of Pacesetter's, they can be had around $400 and last a long time. I've had them in my car for years now and I live by the beach in Florida and I have no rust on them

do ceramic coated ones help keep the temp down better than steel ones? guessing I should probably get a set of high temp sparkplug wires too.

although I think this would work too

I had the BBK shortys. Car sounded good with a cam.. If you have the money buy them new like that go ahead.. But All the headers I have bought have been used and they work out just fine and save loads of money. Just my 2 cents though. Also don't overlook the ebay headers, I had them for a LS1 and they were great.
