Default Cam swap now getting engine codes

I installed a new custom cam from my old 218/224 comp cam. also went with direct port kit and mass air kit. I've got stock injectors and I'm running BR6EF NGK plugs and the car is running pig rich. The car is coding on Mass air failure, EGR valve error which I figured would happen since I deleted the EGR system, and Skip Shift indicator which I knew about since I changed Clusters.

What can I do to get the mass air working again so I can get it ready to tune?

Thanks in advance,
Steven

Did you get it tuned, with at least a mail-order?

What do you mean you went with a "mass air kit?" If you installed an aftermarket MAF, that's generally a bad idea and can be a tuner's nightmare. The stock MAF is PLENTY for 99.5% of all builds.

And specifically, what NUMBER codes are you getting?

I'm still running the stock tune. The car is just about ready to get a custom tune just need to wire up my dedicated fuel system pump. Its the stock Mass air sensor with Nitrous Express Nitrous Housings. Codes are P0100, P0403, P1657, P1664

I'll try another stock mass air tomorrow.

I know i'm way past due for a tune. Everytime I get it ready something always acts up on it.

The stock tune is your problem then. You need a mail-order tune if you expect anything to run right.

For the P0100, make sure you have a constant 12v supply to the MAF (pink wire is 12v, black/white stripe is ground, so measure between the two). You should see 12v. If you don't have the 12v, trace both wires for any breaks. If you have 12v, then measure the frequency between the black/white wire and the yellow wire. You should see 2,500Htz at idle, and it should change with throttle position.

The P0403 (EGR) and P1657 and P1664 (skip shift) can all be fixed with programming.

In case you can't figure it out, you need some tuning.

My tuner told me he could delete the EGR and Skip shift stuff so I'm not really worried about that.

Thanks for the Mass air info. I'll go see if I have 12v on the pink wire right now.

Thanks again

Ok I'm not getting 12v to the pink wire. I'll open up the harness tomorrow and look for a break in the wire.

Thanks again everyone.

I'll be sure to do that too. I've been doing a lot of wireing this past week so I may have popped a few fuses.

Ok guys I got home and checked all of my fuses. They all checked out good. I started chasing the pink wire from the mass air and I'm still not finding voltage. On the yellow wire however I'm getting 5 volts to the black wire. Should it have that much voltage?

Thanks
Steven
